Re: Dragon Age Awakening, Out Now!

My thoughts are generally the same thoughts that have been echoing the blog post about the store update and the dragon age forums

What the hell were Sony/EA/Bioware smoking to make them think that people would pay £32 for a download only add on that once people have got fed up with they cant even trade in because it's just taking up 2GB on the HDD

£19.99 would have been more like it, £24.99 would have been acceptable but £31.99 is just taking the pee. Still a couple of weeks after release once it's been downloaded by all 4 die hard fans prepared to pay £32 and they realise they aren't going to get any more sales at the price, the price should plummet

What makes it even more insulting is that it's cheaper on XBL - and on disk form for xbox.

Why can't we get the disk form? Why does Sony Europe have this stupid rule. I want to lend this game to my friends.

Re: Dragon Age Awakening, Out Now!

Even worse..... whilst it could be argued that £32 for 25 hours of content is okish value, some people are reporting having completed it in little over 10 hours on the DA forums

Looking a more and more attractive purchase by the second

Re: Dragon Age Awakening, Out Now!

Same here I thought it might be £15 - £20 but £32 is just crazy. I can buy a full game and probably pretty new game for that price so why would I pay that for an add on.

Also I don't think total time to finish the game is justification for a high price. Uncharted 2 took me about 10-12  hours to finish where as Final Fantasy will probably take me around 40 - 50 hours to finish but they're the same price on release. Final Fantasy probably cost a lot more to make than Uncharted 2 anyway as Naughty Dog already had the engine to make the game.

Re: Dragon Age Awakening, Out Now!

I've got DAO for both PC and PS3 and I know which version of Awakening I'm getting :smileywink: - especially as it's only 15 squid on Amazon!

Yeah, PS3 owners in the EU are getting the shaft again. £31.99 and no box, disc or manual – whereas you can get the full retail version on 360 for £24.99. BioWare blame SCEE, claiming that they dictate DLC or disc – one or the other. That sounds like a completely stupid policy, even for SCEE.

[ Edited ]

I have emailed Bioware complaining, since they charge us £6 more for a DL only version. It should be cheaper considering there are no extra fees for producing the manual or disc. But when the DL for XBL is £25 that just rubs salt in the wound.

Also EverythingPS has contacted Bioware about the price.

And TBH the PSN Store manager even rang EA to confirm the price because even he though it was too high. When that happens you know your ripping people off

Re: Dragon Age Awakening, Out Now!

I didn't see the point in waiting as it's gonna be a while before the price goes down.

Really enjoying it so far. I think the campanions are better in this one. King Alistair looked good, fair play to the guy.
