Re: Dragon’s Dogma

I think I'll get this tomorrow. Have a few games I don't play any more I can trade in. Not sure whether to trade in Portal 2. Is anything else being done with it does anyone know?

Well, they released the level editor for free recently- but I think that's only on PC.

Trade it in and get Dragon's Dogma- perfect value for money.  :smileyhappy:

LOL if you're level 22 you will have way outgrown the armour and weapons. I think they appear in your item box? I forget...

Re: Dragon’s Dogma

Just picked this up for €16 after trading in four games. Not too bad.

Re: Dragon’s Dogma

I'm finding the combat in this quite difficult. Anyone got any tips?

I'm only lvl14 and just leaving the capital city to head to some hill to decipher a code or something and the road is littered with bandits that just kick my butt.

I don't know if I've missed something where that would help me. I got one of my friends pawns which is lvl31, do the enemies scale up dependant on level? I was thinking maybe that's why I'm struggling. Or do I just suck?

Re: Dragon’s Dogma

You should try other smaller quests first to level up. Their are plenty of easier quests in gran solem. I'm level 20, and I am struggling on one of the missions issued from the same person. Bandits are hard, but the monsters further along the road are more difficult! Also, check your pawns. Make sure you have a balanced team ie. warrior, ranger, or 2 mages.

The combat can be quite difficult in the early levels, especially if you find yourself in an area that's a bit high level for you. The enemies don't scale, so if something is punishingly hard, come back later when you have levelled up a bit.

Bandits can be especially brutal, as they often have mages and two-hand weapon wielding guys which so serious damage - usually in your back as you are distracted with someone else. Prioritise the mages and archers if possible.

Also, the combat in this game requires a bit of tactical thought - you can't just run into the middle and spam attack unless you are levelled above what you are fighting. If the mob are equal or above you in level, pick on isolated enemies on the edge of the mob, and don't be afraid to fall back and regroup and let them come to you. Use down on the d-pad to regroup your pawns.

I think I know where you mean - is it by the entrance to the Witch's Wood? South-west of the starting village? I tried to go down there really early but got owned. At level 14 you should be ok though. Especially with a well balanced party.
