I think a major fault in this game online is everyone can see round corners without actually looking around corners. So people just wait down hallways waiting for someone to come then jump out and shoot them.
Its supposed to be a tactical shooter, and the lean option is there. So we should have to look around corners. Perhaps there should be a fog of war effect so you cannot see around corners. I think this would make the game more tactical and fun because you have to scope an area before you proceed. At the minute you can look but you won't see the guy at the bottom of the street who is looking at you while hidden around a corner.
Any thoughts?
I can see your point but i think being able to see round corners makes the game more tactical, and stops you sprinting down streets with lots of corners, imagine in other games if you could see round corners, you would think twice about sprinting to the corner incase somebody is watching you from behind it

Yeah something like that. To stop people from being able to do it.
It just gives people and unrealistic advantage over anyone trying to play the game properly, by actually moving!
That can easily be combated with smoke grenades, flanking or a normal grenade in fact.
From the OP:
".50 Sniper rifles (and only .50 sniper rifles) should be 1 shot kills"
I think that is an utter load of tosh. Anybody who knows anything about ballistics will tell you that any bullet can kill in one shot if placed correctly and most sniper bullets 7.62x51mm and up will easily do it in one shot.

Some terrible posts in here so far (minimal lag-well duh, obviously they will try to minimise lag).
Hoi dont get cheeky
Whats the point in trying to minimise lag only to chuck players together that are thousands of miles apart

I say it again ... lag and latency are two different things and often confused in these arguments.

Lag, latencey whatever. technicalities aside trying to keep the game running smooth with minimum packet loss etc is a gimme.

What did you achieve in 2010?
Keep reading your sig and always wonder but forget to ask!

All i would like to see is a return to a true tactical shooter.
Stop games de-evolving into team death matches, except suppression and elimination of course.
Stop all this talk of tie break rounds and have who ever completes the most objectives, wins. i.e planting the bomb, protecting the VIPS/Hostages, stopping or setting off missiles.
How often do u see teams run straight off for a spot of TDM!! Way to often.
MVP should be whoever completes objectives and not the most kills. If someone makes 15 kills but a teammate plants the bomb, then the planter should be gaurenteed MVP. The same for other game modes.
I dont know how u balance the kicking issue, maybe having spacific clan rooms where individual players cant join. Or maybe somekind of cost in points or rank so u only vote to kick for a real reason. (and not they are still alive and i'm dead, get them outta here!!!)
And lastly true night maps, forcing the use of night vision googles. Ppl cannot see in the dark, not even highly trained military opritives, without the aid of night vision or thermal scopes, and these should have a limited effectivness. You should be able to openly dance the funky chicken without fear of being sniped from across the map at night.
Other than that the game is great, you will never have a true balance of weopens without going down the realistic route, remember it is still just a game.
Saying that it would be good if the odd stone, curb window or door frame did not present such massive obsticals to the average special forces soldier.
