All the Vets will remember all the hoo-hah about reload being on one of the stick buttons (i think it was reload) It was a right pain in the ass.
Its people panicing - they tense up, and hold the controller to tight, therefore randomly knifing everywhere.
Cant say ive ever heard people complaining when someone jumps out on them and they tense up and randomly knife them in the face ![]()

2 things concern me about this thread ... 1/ "The game has problems, yeah as does every game" Well they shouldnt, you cant justify a shoddy release just because all other releases are shoddy too. Its like surrender, you seem to have accepted this sad state of affairs as the norm and expect to be sold inferior products all the time, even to the point of being sick of people protesting about it ... 2/It seems the socom community is one of the most anti-social gaming sub sections on the Ps3, even without the frustrations of what appears to be a broken game, ya'll dont seem tooo friendly and seem motivated by something other than fun. Im very much looking foreward to the release of Operation Flashpoint but am now concerned that many of the Anti-Social aspects prvelalent in this release will migrate there and soil the multiplayer experience of that title also.
The Socom community is hardly unsocial.....I cant think of ANY game thats used communications more on PS3 or PS2, or that has a deeper fanbase.
There are a few idiots who make everyone look bad here and there, but the majority of SOCOM players are down to earth and care a lot about the series, hence why people get so upset over things being the way they are these days.
Socom invented PS online gaming! Yet ive still to come across a game where 99% of people use a headset (Socom 1,2,3) Almost EVERY game online PS3 has voice communications and yet hardly anyone uses a mic these days...unless its socom where I still see over half the players with working mics.
Trust me, we are VERY motivated by fun, this is why there are, many whine posts about missng features and such - people just want the game to be popular, successfull and work aswell, as its an insult to the series (in their eyes, i personaly enjoy confrontation) the way it is now.
No matter how much you bash it people still love socom, and will come bck to it at some point.
Hope this clears up some stuff ![]()
