Notice of Online Service Termination

“SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3” online service will be discontinued, effective September 20th, 2012. In addition to this, the online pass for the game should no longer be available on the Store as of today and once the servers are offline.  Adhoc play, however, will continue to be available after the online service has been terminated. I think some of you have been waiting for this one.

There was an announcement that came from the US forums a while ago that states that all PS2 and PSP SOCOM games were to go offline.

The fact is that all PS2 and PSP SOCOM games apart from FTB 3 had already been offline in Europe for a while, this was because of the termination of Central Station, the old pre-PSN service we had in Europe.

But this announcement confirms that FTB 3 is to go offline. So this is your 90 days notice before the game is taken offline.

What an disappointment this is, the last surviving Socom Game for PSP. We all know what's coming next don't we? "Socom Confrontation servers are being taken offline" If that happens Socom is truly dead. I would advise people to start playing Confrontation again and get the player count up that may help to keep Confrontation/ Socom alive longer. It will also mean that we are able to enjoy the last Socom before it's finally killed off. The Socom series is dying and that is a 'HUGE MISTAKE'

Kinda sucks to see anything of SOCOM go I hope someone else picks up the franchise but I highly doubt it. Hell I haven't even played confrontation in a long time due to glitchers and cheaters runing it + friends playing other games etc, but I'm still reading the forums looking for any new info hah.

Its one of those things that i just cant let go of...

hopefully i will be able to set up a group of players to play in private lobbies just for the fun of it all
