SOCOM developer Zipper Interactive may have closed its doors, but that doesn’t necessarily mean we’ve seen the last of the popular squad-based shooter franchise. Speaking with OPM, Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Computer Entertainment (SCE) Worldwide Studios, adopted a ‘never say never’ mentality regarding SOCOM’s future, and acknowledged its continued popularity among fans. “It's not done. We never definitely retire any franchise. It’s sometimes great to have a fresh look at the classics that we have," he said. “We are launching a new Sly Cooper game this year after so many years. Never say never. OOOPs didnt see this post but just read it on therealsocom.com it's great news here's my thoughts on it.

This is great news SCE President is obviously a hardcore Socom fan. I thought the end of Socom was coming but it looks like we may get another lifeline and hopefully it will be a classic Socom not this new shizz. Socom at it's best is a console seller as no other console offers anything like Socom used to

Yes i read the thread on therealsocom.com about slant six taking interest to Socom fans on Twitter and asking them what makes a Socom game. I honestly wouldn't mind SlantSix given another go at Socom. Im sure they will have learned from there mistakes and will have a bigger budget this time. Even though the game was broke it still sold well.

Ye i read that on the realsocom.com Great news if it's coming, maybe this is why it was sonys decision to turn off the remaining US servers for the previous socom games
