Id really like to see Socom 1 and 2 to be re-released and given a makeover as DLC to buy on the PSN you see quite a few older titles such as Streetfighter II and Bionic commandos aswell as various others.

So if Socom 1 and 2 was given a HD makeover im very sure it would end up being very popular imo , if they don't alter them rest of the gameplay in the game itself that is !

socom 1 was brilliant but i never played it online as i didnt hav bb at the time

never has socom 2 but i here its great

quick question; blizzard on confrontation is completly different to how it is on socom 1 when u hav to rescue "pincushion" or is that how it was on socom 1 online?

I haven't followed the Socom series as much as i would like to and i should! I only remember having one on the PS2 (i'll have to search for what it was) and i loved it even tho it was hard and i died a lot but i have always preferred the more realistic shooter games.

So this would be a good idea

I think that is an amazing idea!

My favourite online gaming moments have been with Socom 1&2.  Would be great to recreate them in sexy HD style.

I would most certainly buy them if they were re-released on PSN.

I honestly think a complete remake of SOCOM1 and 2 single player with the online maps too would sell by the bucketload.

Something like what they did with GoW1 and 2 being remastered.

I and many other would be happy to play these games on our Ps3 but in slightly better quality than before. With regards to the other versions of socom it basically comes down to "why re invent the wheel"?

They wont need to make a new game, its all there it just needs built, they could even create more maps as DLC or extra single player chapters but surely it cant be complex as making a new game?

I know confrontation is finally kind of close to being a real socom but most real socom fans just want socom back and the only way to do that is KEEP IT SIMPLE and look to what went right in the past.

mmmm its a good idea in principle however socoms popularity has faded ever since 2 n that was on the lead console. Now gamers are more casual and generally want to pick up sumthin they can pick up n play. Socoms difficulty is a major deterrent for new gamers, im sure many bought the game died repeatedly for a few weeks n traded it in. So i dont think it'll sell as well as ppl think unfortunately.

I never rated Socom 3 onwards myself so i think thats why they lost there edge really and Socom 1 and 2 where far better to play than the newer series , I dont mind Socom Confrontation but it doesn't feel the same as older games to play imo

Due to the fact the Confrontation has some of the old 1 and 2 maps its unlikely that they would do this. Confrontation is Sony's answer to having SOCOM 1 + 2 on the ps3... :\

Firstly, I agree that socom 1 and 2 should be released in HD on psn.

Secondly, I actually think that socom confrontation was more of a research project for the next socom.

Meh, bugger the old games, leave them in the past. Just make an awesome new SOCOM. ;D
