I have played every socom to date, not loads but enough to enjoy them, and this doesn't remind me of socom at all, confrontation just seems better in the respect it feels like socom...are they actually going to push back the camera anymore so we can see the whole character?

I feel the same, i wont be getting it till late AUG-SEPT.  might be around the £15 mark then too

i dont think its as bad as what your all making out, maybe you all set your expectations too high

im enjoying it and find myself keep goin back to it, its no Socom 2 but it isnt a bad effort at trying to keep the socom vets playing and introducing the COD minded gamer to it

I found that I got really into it once I got used to it. I'll carry on with the Beta but I'm not going to purchase, not with Red River just around the corner, but it's nice to play a game that isn't CoD

I was looking forward to this game, but thankfully this beta has stopped me wasting money.

Played SOCOM 2, and Combined assault. I hate to be nostalgic, but those were so much better. Heck, even MW2s third person mode is more enjoyable than this.

Best tactical shooter out there and as for clunky lol aye right theres players new to this series now purely because its done away with the old clunky feel and needlessly convoluted control scheme

Cant wait to see what the next socom 4 nitpick is from the haters speed of dive to prone perhaps? ohh this is totally CoD now

I'm extremely pleased I got the chance to play this before it came out , its layed to rest the mess that was confrontation

A fast dive to prone was in SOCOM II, maybe get your facts right?

Yet socom 4 does it & other things better and some cant handle that i feel then theres the moaning about a cover system vs the out of body face to the wall like a naughty schoolboy imitation of cover
