Re: Don't listen to the reviews, SOCOM:Special Forces is brilliant

sorry, I was going on my experience in the beta, I guess I didn't play classic mode or just can't remember, lol & I don't notice BF3 health regen because I'm always throwing out medkits, oh well my bad, I just think if you can have health regen, why not ammo regen?? makes about as much sense really.

Aye, there's deffo health regen in respawn, but I don't go near that, SOCOM and respawn go together like Carlton and Collingwood.  Agree on the health regen and ammo regen, but sadly seems to be the way of almost everything these days.  SOCOM 4 classic, bomb squad, is a really good mode, and they're apparently bringing out some DLC with demolition in it as well, but I'd have been happier if they just polished up Confrontation (made it easier to invite friends to QMs, sped up loading times) and added some maps and a mode or two to that.  Still, hopefully they'll learn from this one....

As for BF3, it looks great, but any respawn shooter will always be more arcadey than a non-respawn one, and feel quite different.  Rumour is it'll have server lists (aka lobbies), which would be awesome :smileyhappy:.

Exactly, if they polished up Confrontation, it would be great, but they took out alot of things that I liked in Confrontation.....I was also hoping for a Socom 1 & 2 experience, but was disappointed when I didn't get that....anyway, I may pick it up, but then I am itching to get back to MAG sometime.

Not sure if I'd recommend picking it up now, numbers online are pretty low, and the next wave of games out starting with BF3 will only push 'em down.  Single-player is good, but very unlike past SOCOMs, and Coops good fun as well (although also very unlike past SOCOMs), and online's great when it works (although it's got its issues, already well discussed in this thread), but I think it's done it's dash.  If the Demo content is good maybe it'll get some spark back?
