Are there any differences besides looks between the nations? Want to double check in case I choose a bad one.

Each nationality (Or Faction) gets their own unique weapon to use that no other faction can use (Unless you pick the gun up from a dead body)

But other than that theirs no differences. 

Also you get different armour. Like im in a british clan and i can equip a SAS light armour instead of a default commandos armour. It just looks different thats all.

you choose it when making a clan and when you join a clan you automatically unlock their weapon and armour/clothes.
