So, for everyone who is looking for their old Singstar Songs to be unlocked on a new PS3 after their old one broke, it does actually work ,and the staff are really, really helpful! I know it's scattered information so I thought i'd make a thread about exactly what you need to do.

 

In the UK, call 0844 7360595

Press the option for PlayStation Network and you will be redirected.

 

Explain to the operator that you want to download your Singstar tracks onto a new PS3 as your old one broke. On the phone, I was asked for:

-my sign in name

-my sign in email address

-my date of birth

-my new playstation 3 serial number

 

and that's all! And, I got sent an email saying my system would be able to download the songs within 7 working days-they even called me back to say it was being processed!

 

So that's the process to do it, and may I just say, the customer service was absolutely phenomenol. It was outstanding-the guy on the phone was really polite, really helpful, and knew exactly what I was talking about-Sony PS3 customer support, be proud because you're really helpful!

correct number from outside UK is : +44 8447360595 and they solved my problem with 15min, but because i have also downloaded some 50+ songs with US account I called to them too (+1 8003457669) but after 40+ min explaining they still didnt understand what I wanted and kept explaining that they dont have authorization to to this and so on...they only deactivated all my ps3 accounts :) very dissapointing, now I have also this Finland account with 75+ songs I bought from there...do I really have to call all different support lines to deactivate all singstar products assingned to my old PS3

I was searching Google after buying a new PS3 and I found this thread. Must admit this post as been very helpful and the customer service from Sony is the best I have ever encountered. Was phoned up and told my purchases have been reset and I should be able to download my songs soon. Still in shock Sony rang me back as well as emailing me the info. Great service. Makes me wonder why I own an Xbox 360 at all.

thats great :) i have been looking for a way ever since my old ps3 got stolen in a burglary.. i just hope its as easy heare in denmark as it apparently was for you.. :D

I called Sony explained that my old ps3 broke down and corrupted internal memory. Their was an outage due to a storm and messed my ps3. So I went out bougth the slim ... but can't get my +90 songs. 

 

The rep from sony said "tuff luck" but as part of the agreement I had agreed license on 1 ps3... so as a result couldn't help me. Then told me I had to buy them again if wanted to use em on another system. Only would make an exception if I sent in my old PS3 for them to "fix it" n charge me an exorbitant amount $$. Then they reset my download so that I could download to new PS3. So I was screwed out off +$100 either way. Sony Customer Service was no help. 

 

If I can fix my old PS3 would their be a way I can release the license from old console so as to transfer the license to new console?

Hi, I have a similar problem, I have a PS3 and bought a PS4Pro, and I spent like two hours navigating the set up sistem, and nothing! I can't find my songs! how is that possible? so I read this thread and callled the service number, and guess what, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience but there is nothing you can do... how beautiful is this, ah? after spending $200 dlrs they are saying without any consideration at all that people who bought songs in their PS3 are screwed.... nicely done Sony and SingStar!, a perfect way to lose a cliente....

I just discovered this thread after finding another thread on the same topic.

 

Anyway,

 

I'm having a similar issue. "The slected item cannot be downloaded because it is associated with another system."  I've called Sony here in Canada, but they told me that I agreed to only have it on one system so they can't do anything!  I want to take off the system I don't use and use it on the system I use.

 

So what happened was that I thought I could play this game at my friend's house (so I didn't have to lug my ps3 to my friend's place as it is heavy and awkward to bring on the bus).  We installed the game on his ps3 and I signed into my account and bought some songs that we could both sing.

 

Now at home on my ps3, I can't access  the songs that I bought! 

 

What happened to being able to use the items we've bought?  It's like bringing Super Mario Bros. to your friend's place to play, then being told you can only access level 2 on your friend's sytem because that's where you played it....or like buying a car and being told you can only drive it the parking lot of the dealership....

 

So if I "deactivate the sytem" as per instructions to get the songs off his ps3 and on to my ps3, will that erase all his other saved game data?

 

sigh.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

I had a few problems with my account a few years ago, and so made another one, the thing is i bought 69 songs on my original account which i am downloading now onto my new ps3 slim, but i have over 30 more songs on the other account and i cant for the life of me remember anything about the other account, i dont know what email or password i used to buy the songs, is there anyother way to get the songs back.

What if the person lives outside UK? Is there an e-mail or something to get in touch with Sony's Help Center? My ps3 was stolen in a burglary two year ago, and I just got a new one and want to download the songs i bought.

Unfortunately, when I called Sony to have them do this, they implied that this was a courtesy service that will only be performed once. If my new PS3 dies, I'm SOL (unless I buy Sony's service contract which supposedly covers all hardware and purchased content... no thanks.)

 

I'm sure we can all thank the music industry for this draconian behavior.
