Another great update for fans of modern RnB. Not!

I dont feel we should accept the apologies, its not rocket science to listen to singstar users, and to get an update out on time.  it is getting a little frustrating waiting for GOOD songs to come onto this. 

I have Lips also and so far its not bad, wireless mics are pretty good, yet their tracklisting is almost as bad as SingStar, so far anyway!!  Being Sony you would think they would have access to their own back catalogue of music.  but perhaps they suffer like most organisations, one department does not talk to or support another.

Sony is a fragmented company, meaning that all their businesses are overseen by one mother company, but they have complete authority themselves. That is why the Music and Movie companies also deal with, for example, Microsoft for distributing their music and movies on the Marketplace and the like. Yes, they share the name, but their ethics can be quite different.

That's why it can be hard for the Singstar folk to secure the songs they want to use for the game. Add to that the downloadable concept and you can understand that most companies are holding back. That is why we probably don't have awesome new songs like 'Human' by the The Killers, or 'Sex on Fire' from The Kings of Leon. I also noticed that on LIPS, there's a song from Editors that's not on SingStar, which is a shame. Oh well, if I wanna sing more Killers, I guess I'll have to shell out for Guitar Hero World Tour. Just need to save up for the complete bundle, and I'm set.

Here's hoping that the next update will have more wellknown and better songs, this one is quite lacking I'm afraid.

I wouldn't be suprised if they're delaying the Store update to coincide with the Singstar update for PS2 BC. I would.

That would be awesome, hopefully the update and the patch will be available by the time I finish work.

i'm not getting my hopes up about this PS2/PS3 patch...

We've had no official word in the UK about this for ages with neither this website nor the facebook group team actually replying to anyones questions about the patch. all they say is "we're waiting for information..."

they must know if it will or will not be out in time for Christmas, as promised.

 if it is out in time for christmas, i'll take it all back but at this moment in time, i dont think it's likely!

There was a post about it on the US playstation blog on December 2nd, which said "The new feature will work with all current PS3 systems and will not require a system software update"

at no point did they say it would only work with US systems, so I am still extremely hopeful, that was only 10 days ago, fingers crossed they are sorting it out.

Depeche Mode for me only this week, Not heard of half them groups. Thankgod i've a 60gig Ps3 because i've been resorting to getting the old PS2 discs on the cheap to get some decent songs on the Ps3 with my wireless mic fun

What is with all the chav crap?

singstar vol 2 and 3 have been poor to say the least. 1 or 2 songs on each disk that are any good. 

It is annoying when I have lots of ps2 singstar disks I cannot play, please just release the rock balliads on the ***** Store and I will be happy.

where are the likes of:

ACDC

Iron maiden

Meatloaf

Elvis

The Beatles

Nickelback &

Evanescence

Nobody wants to buy crap like Roots Manuva - "Witness (One Hope)"

Please for the sake of the franchise get your act together - or people will start buying lips
