Hi all!

Just bought the PS2 Singstar Disney disk today to use with the new PS3 patch which was just released. However when trying the disk swap, an error reports that the Disney Disk is not a valid Singstar Disk. Has anyone gotten this to work with the Disney Disk yet?

Yeah, mine worked just fine. Tried a couple of tracks and they all worked without issue.

You are talking about SingStar Singalong with Disney (to quote its full title) and not one of the High School Musical games, right?

Yeah its the Singalong with Disney disk with the 20 tracks from the film. I am in the UK using Volume 3, but my actual console is originally from the states, not sure if that is causing the problem?

Aye, that could be the problem.

I have a PAL 60GB PS3 and PAL versions of Vol 1, 2,3 and ABBA and all the PS2 discs I tested (again all PAL) worked just fine.

Well I shouldnt have rushed out today to buy the game lol I thought I read that it would work as long as you booted Singstar up with a PAL game first, it would then read PAL PS2 games. Dont suppose any one has any ways around this? I would have thought that the region of the console would not matter as the Singstar game is basically being treat as a data DVD when loading the songs

I think you might have to boot up a US version of Singstar PS3 then swap with US singstar disney

The only problem with that plan is that there is no US SingStar Disney.

Oh bugger. Guess I might have to give up. Wish they had released it on the PS3! Will just have to sell the PS2 copy. Thanks for the comments though
