I've run into problem with my Playstation Eye and Singstar and I was wondering if anybody has any idea how to resolve it.
Whenever I view the video after performing a song, the quality is really really bad. It's incredibly blocky and distorted (like a badly encoded avi movie). Everything was fine up until about last July and there have been no changes in lighting in the room or anything like that and it produced perfect quality prior to that.
I figures it was my old phat PS3 so a couple of weeks ago I decided to buy a new slim console. The problem was the same on the new PS3 so I decided it must be the camera so I forked out for a brand new Playstation Eye and the problem is still there with the new camera on both consoles.
The video streaming feed looks okay it's just the recorded videos that's messed up.
I plugged in my Xbox Live Vision camera and the videos look fine using that although the camera quality isn't as good and the colour is a bit washed out so I'd much rather get my PSeye working properly again.
Can anybody help me solve this issue. It's driving me up the wall!
this happened me when i used my eyetoy camera from playstation 2 so i bought a ps3 eye and the problem went away - i really don't know what the problem could be sorry! x
I had the same problem. For me it was caused by hard drive problems created by playing fifa online against laggy people (which messed up the automatically saved goal replays). It can also happen from turning off the the ps3 by the power switch on the back. Google PS3 hard-drive (rebuild you don't lose anything).
