Hey peeps, I'm reviewing a copy of SingStar Singalong With Disney, and in the past I've just used my 60gb PS3 to run the new SingStars, but this one isn't getting past the first 'loading' screen. Wondered if anyone else had an early copy and had tried doing this before I bother to break out and set up the PS2 for it.
FYI, tried running another SingStar and trying the swap disc feature, but apparently Disney uses its own version of the software (perhaps for a bouncing mouse head or whatever) so it's not compatable doing that. Figured that's why the backwards compatability isn't working either, because it's a different version of the software.

Which version of the PS3 do you have?
And yes, that helps, thanks
Means I'll bother to tweak some stuff and try to get it working. PS2 is stuffed in the garage somewhere ![]()
[edit] - tried removing the 'virtual' memory sticks and it loaded... I'll have to replicate the problem, but at least it's working now
Wouldn't have bothered if it weren't for your response, so cheers mate.

Wouldn't check for updates with a PS2 game, surely?
I've figured out what's causing it and it's very strange. When you load a PS2 game it turns off the wireless controller and you have to manually turn it back on, but if I do that before this version of SingStar asks me to, it just won't get past the loading screen. Crazy.
Ahh well... Sorted now...

Hey guys,
Just thought I would add my 2 cents. I have bought Singstar Disney, and it is not recognised as a Singstar disk when you go to swap disks.
So, I am assuming that owners of 60gb PS3's with the PS2 compatibility are the only ones who can play this game, and only as a standalone game, not as a PS3 SingStar "data disk".
Oh well, time to get the ol' PS2 out and blow the dust off it!

I was having problems too but it looks like it's sorted. I did what you said and turned off the internal/virtual memory card for my PS2 and only turn the controller on when it asks in the game and it loads fine!
Cheers guy!
