I suspect they are gearing up for Volume 4 and all the got propertys are going to that! :smileyhappy:

See, now in my opinion that is where they are going wrong. They marketed a game with the focus on being able to download the songs you want and not having to keep buying discs and then go an put the songs people would actually want onto said discs.

If they focused more of their attention on getting licensing for downloads instead of putting them onto the discs, their efforts will be put to better use. Think of it this way. When a song goes onto the singstore, it is essentially advertising for the artist.

I'm not one of those people who will say "i am going to sell my Singstar and buy lips". For one I don't own an Xbox (even though I now work for MS) and have no interest in selling singstar because it is still a great game and goes down well at parties. I just wish they wouldn't keep filling the singstore with songs that most of us on this forum don't even like.

Re: SingStore Update: 29th January 2009

I don't mind when they put old songs on. It when they put old songs on that you know if you downloaded them people would just not want to sing them and they would be a waste. My downloads have been very varied and I have a bit of everything, but there is over 500 downloads you can choose from and I've only got 120 of them. Not because I can't afford any more, because I can. Just that alot of these songs nobody, including me who is a bit of a know it all when it comes to music wouldn't waste money on them or know who most of the artists are!

I'm not after upto date songs (even though that would be nice) but quality karaoke songs that I know will get people wanting to sing them and I know I won't get bored of them after singing once!

Fair enough where getting a bit of Paul McCartney now but how about McCartney before 1970!

Dreadful! Only Westlife for me.

Oh, how I laughed, how I laughed at that comment. I assume that it was sarcastic as anyone who highlights Westlife as the pick of anything has got to be joking. Surely? Unless you were a 10-year old girl during the time they were popular.

Personally, one of the best updates for me in a while, in that "Saturday Night" by Suede will go down very well with my friends, and other than that the inclusion of Kylie, Supergrass and Divine Comedy is good to see and will also be popular with my peers, and although they are not my favourite songs I think they diversify the SingStore catalogue a little.

But still not enough ********* (self-censored) vols 2-3 songs on the store; I am still refusing to buy extra discs for £20 for 2-3 songs on each when they SHOULD be on the store!

Other than that, thanks for Saturday Night; that is going to feature in many classic party moments for me from now on. Cheers!

To each their own taste of music.  Personally, since Rockband came out I have barely touched Singstar.  I watch both on-line song updates but Rockband keeps getting my money.
