I recently bought a PS3 bundled with Michael Jackson Experience. It came with the console, MJ game and 2 SingStar mocrophones.
I therefore assumed (as it came with mics) that it was a SingStar game. After hours of puzzlement i now realise that it is obviously not part of the SingStar family.
So I just wanted to make sure now that I do get a SingStar disc that will allow me to buy and download songs on the SingStore.
So my question is: Is SingStar Motown PS3 a game that will allow me to access the online store and buy an download songs?
Thanks!

Sorry but please bear with me since I am a newbie..
Would the Beatles game I've seen be considered part of the SingStar collection?

No, the Beatles game you'll have seen is part of the 'Rockband' series.
You can access the SingStore from any game which has 'Singstar' in the title. Off the top of my head I can remember these:
Singstar: Pop Edition
Singstar: ABBA
Singstar: Take That
Singstar: Queen
Singstar: Mowtown
Singstar: Dance (requires playstation move controller)
Singstar Guitar: (requires guitar accessory)
And I am sure there are a fre other PS3 singstar games sinpley called 'Vol.1, Vol 2' etc etc.
They can all be found cheap enough, I got Singstar dance for £9.99 around xmas time.
