Hey guys I don't know if this has already been discussed, but is there a reason why they aren't doing this?

I for one would clear out my wallet to get some of the old titles on my PS3, WITHOUT the annoyance of having to swap discs all over the place

Because they can't. If they can't relicense a PS2 song for use on the SingStore, then they can't put it on there. Simple as that.

The (UK) PS2 title with the most songs online is SingStar '80s, but even that only has 16 of the disc's 30 songs online. They can't release the entire disc as a song pack because there would be 14 songs missing.
