Yes Sideshown, I have 970 odd songs, now the crazy thing is that I bought a ps3 slim back in September and arranged to get the songs migrated to my new console and that was no problem.

Mr Mistoffles was the first song I redownloaded and it worked fine, so I then started downloading all of my songs again, and boom Mr Mistoffles wouldnt work anymore tis very weird

Also the error  I am getting with the new song packs is Online Error, Code DL15

Let me know if you want me to test anything

I noticed for the songs that dont work, if you choose the "Short" version they do work.  "Long" play is what is broken.

Has anyone tried deleting all updates and just using any disk before Dance/ Guitar? I have over 900 songs and there doesnt seem to be any patten. I am going to contact watchdog and trading standards over this as Sony are taking our money but not delivering a working product.

I was planning on putting the new Back to the 80-s disc to use with my friends&family this Christmas and New Year's Eve, but unless there's a fix coming, it's not going to happen

EDIT: Forgot to add that - just like casper2k6, I've also upgraded my hard drive to 750GB from the standard 80GB. Other details:

SingStar version (for all discs/viewer): 5.13

BCES-01257 (Back to the 80-s)

Bit of news singstar team seem of found the problem it happens when you have more then 700 songs downloaded. I do have a temp fix. 1) delete ALL software updates 2) use a singstar disc released BEFORE singstar dance/guitar. All songs should work. However I have only tried this with singstar vol 2. Im going to try having an updated game but around 699 songs.

I can confirm if you have less then 700 songs on your HDD then all the songs work with any disk

I'm glad this "over 700 songs library crash" is being looked into.  Its now promising that the next title update could possible fix this issue once and for all if and when its released in 2012.
