I used to be a HUGE Singstar fan and purchased a lot of songs online.
Unfortunately, my PS3 died and I had to buy a replacement. However, Playstation claims that I have to purchase all my music again!!!! How can this be fair?!?!
Guitar Hero songs on the other hand could be reloaded with little issues...
So sorry Singstar, I have moved over to Guitarhero... at least I know that my investment wont be wasted... shame though... i loved our Singstar parties!!

unfortunately I have tried that as well as send many emails. They just keep claiming i need to purchase all my content again!!!
To be honest, I can't see how it could be legal.... but after trying for over 2 months I have given up.

Is it for music purchased with a local account? If so then they should be able to deactivate your old PS3 then you can re-download them on the new one. Are you sure you didn't misunderstand them when they said you have to "redownload" them?
Oh and I wouldn't switch to the Guitar Hero franchie, that's been dropped like a seventeen year old's false claims.

Plus quite frankly the vocals in Guitar Hero and Rock Band just aren't that fun from a singing point of view... Fine from a band-play point of view, but just not that good from a 'Singstar' point of view.
This is coming from someone with all the Bon Jovi DLC in both Singstar and Rock Band 3... If I'm going to have a sing party, I'd rather load Singstar... the best part about RB3 vocals is that they are so rediculously easy I can get over 95% on most songs I know on expert while still playing guitar...

Hey thecookie77
We should be able to help you out with your singstar issue. The best idea I can give would be to call us on 1300 365 911 between the hours of 8am - 8pm Monday to Friday. We will be able to assist you with no problems

are you serious Pretoria?? That would be awesome! Are you guys different to the Playstation helpdesk? As they are the ones I have been fighting with about this.
This was their "official" response: "We apologize for any confusion that this may have caused you. Although you have purchased the license to the songs, you only purchased to download the content once. This type of content can only be downloaded once. Unfortunately if you wanted to get these songs back you would need to repurchase them from the PlayStation(R)Network. "
I made it very clear to them that this was because I had to replace my ps3 and it was also escalated with the same response. Oh well... I will give that number a go
Cheers!!

Well that sucks.. I was considering about buying some songs online but if that's the case I wont.. I'll just have 20 disks to juggle instead.

Wow, I mean wow Sony. I'm going to re-think purchasing any singstar tracks, even if I have to contact support, we still should be able to re-download them.
