I do not think the that's the problem, the problem lies in the legal agreement regarding DLC and uploading of performances. That's, what might be 'slowing' the release of the tracks. Effectively it would be like you purchasing the rights to sing your own song, and perform it. The artist, would require a cut of the profits. So throwing money at the problem, will not really make it go away!

IMO, you pay for quality.... I feel that the singstore is amazing value (99p per track), so yep, I would agree to pay a little bit more for some quality tracks.. Of course, what would be a hell of a lot better would be in the Singstore had those great tracks online for 99p, but it is obvious that they are having BIG trouble in getting record labels to allow them use their popular songs on the singstore, so maybe the only way around that is if Singstar offer the record companies more money to allow them to use the tracks...

Define 'better'.
Older does not make a song less well known or less popular.
I think you just meant 'newer'.

Okay, the answer in short is 'NO' and here is why:
Think about how much you have had to pay for the game and the mics...probably around £40 right
Now think how many songs you've downloaded... probably around 40 - 100 songs
Now think how much that has cost you so far...between £70 and £130
Now think about how many hundreds of thousands of people own singstar and are spending the amount that you are...
just for perspective lets say that only 100,000 people own singstar, and they have all bought around 60 songs, added on top of buying the game and the mics...they have just earnt themselves a whopping £10,000,000 (that's 10 million quid!) now we all know that there are many thousands more singstar owners than this and yes I concede that they have to pay out some of this money to the record companies blah blah blah, but when you take this small example of the kind of earnings they're getting out of us, would I pay more? HELL NO!
They have a constant revenue stream that has caused me to so far spend an additional £70 on the game!

I actually think £0.99 is too expensive. For a SD video and the song i would be looking around a £0.79 mark. I could understand if all the songs sold counted towards the official download chart, but they dont. If they released songs as they came out and charged £1.49 fair enough, but then the price would have to go down after a while. Then there would be a £0.49 bargain bin lol

That's exactly what I feel should be happening!!

Good modern songs will come...........eventually
They will probably come when they are no longer modern... we are currently get the Kylie from the 80's hits.... maybe in 20 years time we will get some of her "current/modern" hits!

DEFINETELY : YES!!!!!!!!
I want to have the opportunity to sing to current songs by Kylie, Madonna, Katy Perry, Amy Winehouse, Kelly Clarkson, Leona Lewis...
Everyone who don't like to pay more for current and successful songs don't have to buy these songs. But i will defenitely do!!
I don't wanna wait 5 years until the licence is cheap enough for Singstar/Sony....
Just a short version of my opinion. I've stated the longer version in the other thread with nearly the same topic ;-)

We should not have to pay more, we should be getting good songs any way instead of s@@t like chaz & Dave.
This generation of Singstar has been a dud, when comparing it to the PS2, actually the PS2 is still better supported.
Disney, Boybands VS Girlbands, Summer Party & Anthams have all came out on the PS2 since the PS3 has been out.
Sony can get and release good songs, but they just don't want to do it for the PS3.
I think threads like this will give Sony more reason to try and rip us off
