Fully agree. Finding the best line down and then constantly tweaking it to shave tenths of seconds off was part of the fun on the earlier games. For a prime example of why we should ban them in races unless required check out my ghost on Patagonia, Blackbox, race. The only time I touch the floor properly after the first jump is when I get over the finish line.

my kids have had a bash on the race we did last night. i told them not to use wingsuits to see if they could break the minute mark. after 15 minutes or so they were under 1 minute by just racing. actually they found out that the first ravine you jump over you can actually jump into. saved them plenty of time. you live and learn....

Yeah if I had of known wingsuits were aload I would have easily beat that score. You fly by a lot of the track that way and can knock off 20-30 seconds of race time on most tracks, thats why wingsuits are banned from races in global events. Ah well I know for next time.

finally updated the leaderboard. it went all crazy on me for a while giving people over 100 points so had to change that. should be all worked out now!

I agree too. The only reason I put on my wingsuit was that everybody else was doing it. And I needed the points

Wingsuits?!

Not a fan myself, if you take a look at the following video, it shows you how a sub 50 second time can be achieved on the Fuji course we raced on Tuesday. It takes so much of the skill away from trying to find that perfect run.

Wow ive been missing the wingsuit debate.
I never even think about using them on non wingsuit tracks. I just forget about them, im the same with mods.

Its like the video above... If ive ever being struggling 'that much' in any game, that ive ever felt the need for help off an internet vid ive forgotten what its showing me and what the hell im "ment" to be doing with the info.
I cant do a bit pause, check vid, unpause play how its showed etc. My mind just forgets it..?
Ok the last treasures that I cant find or pigeons (gta) they can be useful but even then with out keeping masses of documentation I wouldn't know which one I have or havnt got anyways.


Sorry back on subject. Just block wingsuits from now on "simples" ;-)

Its a shame you cant block other gear eg solar gear or ice axes in custom events (can you?)

Not at all! I've been a member over on the fansite for SSX since 2002, it was posted over there, they have a similar debate about the use of wingsuits. I know for a fact that Todd Batty is a big fan of them and has posted some insane times using the wingsuit method. I'm not a fan personally, I think it would be a good idea to somehow differentiate between wingsuit obtained times to standard times though.
