Yep!
Just read over on the EA forums that this is intentional. They want to get as many people down a certain slope as they can so shut off all but them and rotate it daily. They have ruined it imo.

looks as if it is a bit buggy right now. have been messing around with my account and ssx-event to see what is up. i can't create events on the ssx-event account but can on my englishgolfer account but then i can't see that event on my son's account. yet el-ve can but can't join....
we'll have to see what happens tonight guys. fingers crossed!
edit: have updated the events calendar in the hope that EA sort out the bug!
edit 2: just re-read phil's post above this one. well that's thrown a spanner in the works for us! thoughts???
The new Global Event format doesn't affect custom events. You can do what you like, where you like.
The only thing that's annoying me at the minute is that I'm not receiving my "While You Were Away" earnings. I should have at least 6 million from them, and I'm going to be majorly annoyed if I don't get them.
You'd think that EA, being such a wealthy company, could afford better servers.

i think that "while you were away" is part of the same problem for me also as it's saying i'm not connected when i try to compete in any global event, i can't see the weekly event anymore (was on it earlier) the game then freezes.
but i can see my rivals and they're challenges so i know i'm connected to ridernet.

that's how i read it as. unfortunately it seems that there is a bug in the coding as custom events are being affected at the moment.
