Cleveland are absolutely smashing it. If they keep playin like they are they would own the Lakers as well. Dallas avoided the broom as well due to Dirk who scored 19 of his 44 in the 4th Qtr.

Re: The Official NBA thread

I think Boston and Orlando will go to 7 games, which works well for Cleveland as they get more days rest. They're just a beast at the moment, and they can now prepare a game plan to deal with either winner. In the same way they met the Hawks, they can be much more physically and mentally prepared than either Orlando or Boston will be.

Re: The Official NBA thread

I totally agree, Cleveland have a huge advantage on either Boston or Orlando. I am not sure who I want to win that series. They are both playin really well. If Dwight does do the Rebound / Scoring double double, they really could push Cleveland...

The West seems to be closer than I expected, I thought LA would be in rest mode as well, I am glad Houston isn't bein a pushover & actually testing them. Yao out for 12 weeks fails though.

Shaq now plays for the Suns, I dont think he will be there next year though, with the season they had... He will prolly end up in LA or something like that, although I dunno who you would trade for with his insane 22mil contract.

I think there are gonna be some insane trades incoming early next season. A few teams are missing that small key to get a winning team.

Re: The Official NBA thread

Shaq's a problem at his age. Lakers and Heat are out of the question, the GM's won't go for him. If I had to make a bet I'd put him down to go to New York. They've been clearing cap room hoping for LJ23, and when they don't get him Shaq may look like a good bronze medal. Shaq may boost fan attendance at the Garden.

Everywhere else I doubt would want him. None of the teams who made the playoffs will want to risk him especially with his dominating persona and his huge contract, they'll be looking to youth and developing draft picks to get them up. Even teams who didn't make it have plans to change their fortunes, many of which don't involve Shaq. New York seems the most real option, aside from that he could end up in Detroit in a trade for Allen Iverson who to me isn't the right fit for Pheonix, I agree with the commentators who say Iverson should go to Charlotte in spite of the conflicts with the coach. 3-way trade could be a real option.

Re: The Official NBA thread

Lakers and Celtics won through today in their Game 5's to take a 3-2 series lead. Tomorrow Denver and Dallas face off in Denver, I think Denver will be too good and close out the Mavericks. Lakers I tip to win Game 6 in Houston but I think Orlando will win at home. It's a real toss-up for Game 7, I would tip the Celtics to get up though, I believe they can shut Dwight Howard down in at least one of their next two games.

Updated again, Lakers gave Houston a whoopin & I am sad... I dunno if they will get back into it now.

I dunno how Boston keep doin it, there bench is just so deep & Truth & Ray are just that good... I hope it goes to 7 as well.

Bulls Vs Celtics is still the best series I have seen in a long time.

Shaq for AI would be an interesting trade but I think Phoenix might wanna keep him for cap relief next year though.

Hope Phoenix can work it out for next year though, they have such a good team but it just doesnt work for them now.

Re: The Official NBA thread

Double Post to bump

Game 7 for both series, that is a surprise there, I really didnt think the Rockets could bounce back after the 40point floggin. It should be interestin to see what happens now in that G7.  Magic Vs Boston, I kinda expected it though.

Just read about the possibility of Amare goin to the Wizards,  that would be crazy...

Re: The Official NBA thread

If Washington landed Amare, kept their first round draft pick and Arenas stayed healthy... Washington will be a beast next year, and a real championship contender in 2-3 years. It depends if they keep that pick though, I'm certain they'll get a Top 5 pick, and Shooting Guards and Centres are the hot property in the draft usually, positions they have filled. It's all still hypothetical though.

Saw the Rockets-Lakers second half. I swear Channel One might just be the best contribution to TVin a long while. A dedicated sports channel on free-to-air is something that's been missing for a while. I really hope it thrives, because Sport is the only thing that makes me think of getting Foxtel.
