As the date of the opening ceremony (27th July 2012) is coming ever closer, there should be some sort of thread for banter and discussion of the latest news, events, and any other information all the way through the competition.
So here is the thread for anything to do with the London Olympics 2012, feel free to post right away!

The second one, Aida Roman. Although the Ukraine didn't look too bad either. Perhaps it's just a horny morning and I left me beer goggles on.
Anywho been watching sailing for an hour or two but now weight lifting time.
I bet you cannot wait to see Jessica Ennis in her tight suit next week!
;)
Come on Tom Daley, get us that gold!
Just don't do what I do on the Olympic game. I either do belly flops or back flops.

It's looking like Team GB's first gold won't come until either the Gymnastics or the Rowing tomorrow. :(

You're like the reverse of Project. Whenever he slates England in football they end up turning it around shortly after :D
This fencing match is insane!
It's Germany vs. Korea and it was 5-5 on the last round with simultaneous hits for all 10 points. If there was no decisive score in sudden death it was going to the Korean woman. There was so many restarts due to simultaneous hits and the time was getting closer and closer to 0. At 1 second left there was 3 restarts and the German fencer was leaping at her as soon as the ref started the round again. Then on her last attempt the clock went to 0 AFTER the simulations hit. They decided to restart the clock and reset it to 1 second. They fence again and somehow the German pulled off a hit and won the match.
But it wasn't over, then the Korean coach went mental saying how can there be so many restarts with a second left, the timekeeper must've made a mistake the match should've been over. :D So the judges are having a meeting to decide what to do and if the decision should stand. The Korean is crying and everyone's waiting to see what will happen. Probably the most epic moment of the Olympics I've watched so far :D
Edit: After about 15/20 minutes, they've made the decision stand. Now they're escorting the Coach out and the Korean is stood there heartbroken crying. Poor girl. She's not moving from the stage. This was crazy :D
Edit #2: And it's still not over. The reason she has not moved is because if she does it means she accepts the decision, the reason the coach walked off was to write a hand written formal appeal not too far from the stage. So now this is going to be reconsidered again. If accepted they will have to go off and deliberate over this entire thing. I didn't think things could be so dramatic!

UK sucks at Olympics
3 medals but no gold :D
I was in a restaurant earlier when the gymnastics were on and it said we came 2nd but then Japan had words or something and we got bumped down to 3rd, the hell happened there?
Didn't have any sound so was hard to understand what was going on.

One of the Japanese gymnasts messed up his dismount on the pommel horse and the judges marked him down for that, which put GB into 2nd place. Then the Japanese appealed against the score given to them (to be fair, they did mark him too low) and then the judges changed the score they gave him, and so we got bronze instead of silver.
It was all very dramatic.
Edit: @LordRoss, I think you need to be watching the beach volleyball. :D

If you didn't know the history then everytime I complained about the England football team they went on to score, I didn't make any complaints during the Italy match and they lost.... so, it stands to reason that Team GB will have a Gold at some point today.
Time for you lot to put a bet on it. :D

This is pretty good advice. Especially with the world number 1 Canoe Slalom person being English and the finals being in a couple of hours. Do it! :D
It came a bit later than I expected but if we don't get another by Friday I do my part again.
Mind you on a slightly different topic, has anyone kept an eye on the Medals list? China is flooring this Olympics regarding Golds, they have about half the amount of medals that US has as gold alone. 13 gold compared to USA's 24 Gold's, Silvers and Bronze's combined.
They are going to dominate from here on in until India finally sorts out it's act.

China are just too good at everything, though.
