This is by far the hardest sports game that i've ever played. The game doesn't help me understand learning how to play as I am american and have never seen cricke before. Any tips or links for trophy help?

I wouldn't recommend playing International Cricket 2010 then, it's even worse. The bowling in it just sucks.
There is a tutorial section in the game. Have you been through that? From memory there is actually trophies for completing both the batting and bowling training. If you haven't watched a real game before that might help
The first test of the summer starts on the 1st December and will be live on Channel 9.
Couple of quick tips. Mix up the bowling. Bowl a few balls that move into the batmen then chuck in one that moves away.
The CPU seems to be pretty average against leg spin (right handers) or off spin (left handers) too which means you can get it out quite often by bowling around the legs. So the idea is to pitch the ball behind the batmen and get it to turn back into the stumps. It will require a bit of playing around, but once you find the right spot you'll get the CPU out fairly easily.
For batting, hit with the direction the ball is going in and try and pick gaps in the field.
In terms of picking up trophies your best friend here is the save function. If you get a couple of batsmen out in a row, save, then if you don't get a hat trick re-load and try again. Fairly cheap method, but it makes life easier. Same can be said for any of the batting trophies.
