Re: ANZ Starhawk night, Wed 6 June, 7:30pm AEST/9:30pm NZ

Yeh I was knifed from a far distance last night after I ran past on of the guys in ya base mikey. I was shouting at me mrs who was on MW3 next to me "LOOK AT THIS! CHECK THIS OUT!" :smileyvery-happy:........ why am I laughing?

Faith in the "supporting the community" spiel is starting to spiral down the drain I'm afraid :Frown:

Another one for the list..... Servers.

Pretty hard to get everyone together in the same server though, particularly if we don't all have a chain of friends - and can we tell whether a server is in the US or not?  IE, if they're all not local, does it make a big difference?  And we'd be at the mercy of whatever set of maps/modes had been set up for that server - they're much better than in the week after launch, but it can still be a bit hit and miss.

Re: ANZ Starhawk night, Wed 6 June, 7:30pm AEST/9:30pm NZ

So a locked server with an Aussie/NZ host & locals only admission won't change the lag issue? :Help:

Oh I did send out an SOS of sorts:

4 Jun CaltallicaCaltallica @Caltallica

@DylanJobe Hi, We are concerned that the ANZ (Australia & New Zealand) community is being neglected. I don't believe this is your intention.

Odds that I will or won't get a reply?

@ cal No, lag will be worse. the problem is that all starhawk servers are hosted by sony, not your ps3. this means that they are most likely being hosted in the eu region for us which is laggier than the US servers

Maybe you should mention that the ANZ region is more than just a few miles from the Eu region. Maybe they should look at a map once in a while and measure some distances.

How much laggier is it?  If it's east coast US, it's pretty much the same distance away (give or take, but near enough in this case).  Never noticed a huge difference between EU and US servers for lag on most games, although if it's west coast US there will be some benefit of jumping onto a US server.  Any idea how we'd get there though?

You would think they would have used the same Sony server as Warhawk had... Even if it was only 2 max lol...

BTW... Will this server still be up 2night? Would stil be keen to join, until lag makes me crazy and quit :smileyhappy:
