Re: ANZ Starhawk night, Wed 6 June, 7:30pm AEST/9:30pm NZ

That was great for the first mixed ANZ server

The mix of Dogfights and ground pounder modes went well with the other modes. I was really happy that the server had something for everyone. Dogfights are so much more fun in this then in Warhawk.

That one flag capture was epic guys :smileyvery-happy:

I had me vulture pack on and threw everything I had at the flag carrier but he just kept going!! Finally the flag went to ground right near your base and it was on for young and old.

fun night.

Good times indeed. I'll be back for more next week.

Marsta, that 'spinning forever after you die' thing is normal, but tends only to happen in dogfight I think. It frustrates me too!

Thanks for the game last night, only got the one CTF on Sever in before I had to cook. Still it was the Epic flag capture game  It was good to see what the StarHawk experience was about before trading this game in.

Good to see ya there J - Starhawk's deffo all about those kind of games, at least for me. It's got huge potential for clan wars and stuff as well, but we'll just have to see whether it gets that kind of thing going.

@ JandTNZ - Trade it in? Arrrgggggghhhhhhhhhhh! (Cal runs around the room flailing his arms above his head)  :smileysurprised:
This game will build to rival the legendary days of Warhawk 2009 but it needs a little time. Warhawk is a bench mark that LBI want/need to surpass.

Like Axe99 said elsewhere, Starhawk is in pretty good shape when compared to other big name games on release.
Unfortunately I think the majority of PS3 owners are are now 12 year old foul mouthed COD player's and not the original demograph that they were in Warhawks heyday.
There is no longevity in them which games like War/Starhawk require. That and the fact that when they play something like Warhawk they get smashed and don't like it so they throw it away.
I play COD also and am in no way dis'n the game (QD clan are big on MW3 & Starhawk :smileyvery-happy:)
Oh look here's a quote I just googled up :smileylol:

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe CEO Jim Ryan "I think you'll see us taking the console more towards a slightly younger demographic,"
I'm not sure who you been gaming with but if you decide to hold onto Starhawk your welcom to add me to ya F/L. For any AU & NZ gamers there is the servers that we've been working on that will be weekly events.
I personaly waited years for this game's release.... it's hard for me to hear such things as "trade ins" :Scared:
Rant complete.

Re: ANZ Starhawk night, Wed 6 June, 7:30pm AEST/9:30pm NZ

I totally agree that people don't seem to give themselves time to get into games any more. One of the reasons more niche games get reviewed more harshly is that a significant percentage of reviewers expect the mechanics to be exactly the same as games they've already played. Sometimes, these same reviews (in other places, of course), then complain about the lack of innovation in gaming - nutso! Anyways, Starhawk, like many great games, isn't as instant gratification as the CoDs, Battlefields or Skyrims of the world, and takes a bit of time to get into, and it'll never have a CoD-sized audience because of this. But for those people that do get into it, there's what I honestly believe is the best online MP gaming (at least arcade-style) this gen. CoD and BF are good, but they just don't have the same moment-to-moment balance and fun factor, SOCOM isn't arcade, KZ is kinda half-and-half (but was also very, very good).

@Cal - don't worry about the shift of the PS3 towards the younger demographic - that's because within the next two years we'll be seeing a PS4 (and possibly next year - hell, most of the rumours point to that). It's like how the PS2 did the same later in its life.
