Just an idea until next weeks fixes. Try joining some 16 player games instead of 32.
I played for a few hours last night and had some great even games. No base poundings at all.
Agreed. I actually prefer 10 man games, 5 a side works well ![]()

First of their are barrels outside of the main base that you can shot to gain rift.
Also if you have the squad leader skill people will be able to spawn on you.
There is also alot of fun by getting a jetbike (one rift) finding the mine spawn and driving passed tanks (not obviously in their line of fire) and blowing them up. Played with someone on a team earlier and his team was getting absolutely destroyed but he still finished with 22 kills and in the top three because he got out of his base and killed all the enemy with mines from behind them because they wasn't expecting it.
These are great theoretical ideas but they rarely have real-world applications. Yes, there are barrels outside your base that someone else has probably shot and harvested. Having a squad leader is a rare event - you need someone who has unlocked that skill and equipped it and to have escaped the base when you need to spawn. Getting on a jetbike and going to get mines is a great idea if you know where the mines are and you don't have a Hawk hunting you down.
Likewise Malazak suggesting you build a turret from inside your pod. Great idea if you have any rift energy to build it with. And if you do build a turret and it isn't destroyed by a tank or cluster bomb or nuke and you fend off the enemy, you now have no rift energy for building vehicles to get out of your base, so you just have to wait for the next attack.
Every grand plan to escape the base ravaging is dependent on factors outside of your control. There's a considerable element of luck on whether your choices are noticed and counter by the enemy or not.

There's a patch for base ravaging next week. However, as I've said in another post, pods should have a machine gun and allow you to stay inside for 60 seconds. That would enable a ravaged team to fight back in the area around the base.

Thats where the EXPLORE mode comes into play!!!!
If you only play say on larger maps like I like to do then you have the option to learn the map & remember where the weapons that complement your style of play are....

But you have to try!!!!!
1 player can turn the tide of a battle!!!!
I played a game of CTF yesterday & get less than a 1000 points but it was one of the best games i've played since buying this!!!!
Had my mic on & Combat Intel as my skill giving a running commentry on enemy/vehicle movement in the area of our base!!!!
The died in there droves
Even when the flag was stolen by a sidewinder rider he only got halfway up the map as I told the tanks who were forward what way he was going....

That is quite the defeatist attitude to have. I have merely given you the tools (ideas) to help in those situations. How you use those tools and what you build (and battle) is upto you. For a start..... Rift barrels regenerate so you just have to wait. Weapon spawns are displayed on the map so finding them should be too much a problem. As saber said there is an explore function to learn the maps. Squad leader isn't too hard to unlock but it's beyond my and your control if someone decides to spawn on you or not. Lastly you can play ground only games if hawks are annoying you that much. This game has alot of problems at the moment but some are self inflicted by the players themselves and not the design of the game
