Since the last patch update all I get is the above message every time I try connect online. Have tried reinstalling and putting my ps3 into DMZ with no luck. Any ideas?

I'm getting this problem on my virgin fibre optic broadband only. I also have Sky broadband which I can use to connect just fine. Possibly a problem with the recent firmware upgrade from virgin - are you chaps on cable?

Am with Virgin Media and it only started occurring when my Broadband got upgraded to 100 meg. Not sure why. Recently somebody said to me to try a wireless connection and just as bizarrely Starhawk now works for me. Wierd???

I've tested my internet connection...nothing wrong with it. This is an absolute disgrace. Sony, you make a song & a dance about this game coming to PSN and then when I buy it...sweet F A.

This sort of thing (plus many many others) will not aid you in retaining my loyalty for next generation at all.

I'd ask for a refund but we all know that'll never happen, scuse me whilst I laugh BITTERLY.

I have same error on wired 60meg Virgin Broadband.

 

All other games work fine. Did internet connection test via PS3 settings and also port scan from within Starhawk game settings. All ok.

 

I cannot connect to a single game. Cannot even create my own game as same error pops up.

 

Sony, I paid soley for multiplayer so get your act into gear and sort it out. Sale of goods Act 1973 - 'fit for purpose' springs to mind.

Yep, same issue.  Really starting to sh*t me. gets to loading screen for the map and then crashes.

I have been playing SH since the beta last year.

I too suffer from this error and can't get into any games when playing via Ethernet.

My ISP is also VM.

 

It has been like this well before August this year for me and I was disappointed that LBI did not fix this issue before the new options of being able to buy / play SH and new DLC were shipped.

 

If possible I would suggest try to play using the PS3 wireless option as this appears to work for a lot of people.

 

Although it does not fix the issue it may enable some to play.

Update on my prob. Wired connection fails everytime but as suggested I unplugged ethernet cable and set up wireless connection via PS3 network settings menu.

 

Straight in on first attempt and can now join games. Weird!!

 

Still need long term fix as extra latency is no good for my bodycount :Stupid:

Had all of the above issues as well. Only connecting via wireless worked???? Had been thinking about investing in new router any way so took the plunge. £75 or so later, Superhub in modem mode and all connected and ps3 via a wired connection.......No issues now. Makes me wonder if it may be a superhub issue or a bit of both (game and superhub)

I am rocking the Superhub with Virgin media and do not roll with a changed DNS, DMZ or using wireless but seem to have little trouble connecting, Often connecting within 2/3 tries if I do have an issue.

50% if the time I have no issues which is weird considering the problems everyone is having.

That's lucky, hopefully it don't gradually get worse.

Mine was terrible. At first I got the error occasionally, then constant so I switched to wireless where it worked flawlessly for about a month and then gradually turned to poo again.

 

But now I got this new router installed I haven't had a single problem regarding this.

I have triggered these ports on my router. There are many guides online as to how this can be done...it is simple and if you balls it up you'll only need to reset the router and start again.

This has now allowed me to access an online game of Starhawk whereas before I could not at all. I spent 2 hours trying different ways to achieve connection to a game and this was the only one that bore fruit...ironically I had these ports opened prior to having to reset my router due to all the messing JUST to get Starhawk to work. I then did the Port Scan *within* Starhawk's settings and it listed the ones above.

During the 2 hours I attempted a DMZ for my ps3, went from wired to wireless and back again. Changed the GHZ broadcast signal of the router and tried to ban every other smelly human from the, shared, router....nothing worked expect this. I find it hilarious consumers need to spend this much time to get a game running, therefore I have cancelled my PSN+ subscription...which was due for renewal *tomorrow*. Well played Sony. Well played
