Yep.. You definitely have to make a U.S account on your PS3 to activate it and Download... You also get access to the U.S private beta forums ...

Done it on mine... EU account, not valid, U.S account works Sweet... Dumb though, I wanted a EU code for a mate!

I received my code and tried to use it on uk account but it didn't work . After reading earlier posts I tried my US account and it worked !. Cheers

Just to double check, I created a new American based PSN account via Sony's website. Must I create it via my PS3 ? Cause I made a new one (US based) and for the life of me, I can't login. Says I can't login using someone else's email address (and it is my own). 

I really give up, unless someone can tell me where I specifically need to go to create a new one etc.

Go on your PS3, make a new user and click on Sign Up for Playstation or something, then create a US account from there

How very strange my code didn't work on my US account ?
