Hometown: Derby - Pride of the Midlands
Random fact about yourself: I can raise my eyebrows independently a la 'The Rock'.
Music: I'm not a huge music fan but I do like The Prodigy and similar old skool Rave/Dance stuff.
Movies: Star Wars obviously, Star Trek, Sci-fi or anything the wife or son wants to watch.
TV: Documentaries, Historical, Factual, Comedy. Anything really except soaps.
Food: Italian. Failing that, anything tasty and spicy.
Books: Terry Pratchett
Which was the first game you ever played?
Probably a variant of Pong on the Atari 'Grandstand' console (it still works!).
To control the 'bats' you turned a dial. None of this 57 button
vibrating bluetooth malarkey!
Besides Warhawk, which was the most amazing game you've ever played before?
There are a lot of games that are amazing in their own way..... Sonic
the Hedgehog for it's beauty and sheer speed (in it's day obviously),
World of Warcraft for the size of the game and the social aspects
in-game, Mario Kart64 because 4 player races are great fun and
Goldeneye64 because that game was brilliant. I'd have to recommend the
game I spent 5 hours on last night...... Peggle for the PC. Simple,
addictive and it cost less than £3!
Why did you buy Warhawk?
£20, 32 player, clan support etc. It offered alot for the money and I
could buy it without getting off my sofa. It also meant I could
purchase without the wife realising....
Did you get it on release?
Yep. I think so. I remember getting the PSN download before it was available in stores.
Do you remember the first match you played?
Vaguely. I think it was a large CTF match on Island outpost. I ran
straight to a WH and took off. Several twirls and spins later I think I
boosted into a mountain.
Would you play Warhawk if it was an 8-bit mario style game? Yeah
sure, games for me have always been and always will be about fun and
playability. If it's fun and results in me enjoying myself, I'll play
Favorite weapon/vehicle/game mode/map?
Weapon - Sniper rifle. Vehicle - Jeep. Game mode - CTF (Particularly TKA mode ). Map - Eucadia (Battle for Eucadia) and Archipelago (Acropolis Assault).
Besides your clan, Which clan you admire the most?
I can't really answer that one with an individual clan. All of the EU
forum WH clans that helped to make this community the most friendly and
fun. All of you. You know who you are.
How did you get into [dads], and why are you still there?
When I first joined the forums, I was very briefly (about a week) in a
clan called WHK (Warhawk Krew). No-one was ever online so I joined a
clan called PFJ. A new(ish) forumer called Morgo1978 then setup a clan
called Dadsarmy which suited me perfectly but I was not about to leave
PFJ. When the PFJ disbanded I asked Morgo if I could join. I briefly
left Dads for a short while to form TKA with Link69/Shillingford. After
a time, Link and I disbanded TKA (Don't ask why, we won't be saying), I
asked to rejoin Dads and the rest is history.
I'm still there because it's great. We have our own website and forum. All
the members are top blokes. We had a cracking weekend when 9 of us met
up in Nottingham for a day out (another one coming soon. ). We recently had an internal week long competition in Socom with prizes etc. and it was a brilliant week.
Who is the bigger noob, Warrior or McDuff?
That's a daft question, they are both enormous noobs.......
Describe the best moment you've ever had in Warhawk
Honestly, probably taking down Warrior-101's WH with some swarm missiles. It's
only ever happened once and will most likely never happen again!
What kind of attitude makes you mad? Forum or in game.
Do you plan on leaving Warhawk? If so, when and why?
I'll most likely never delete WH and I don't trade games in but I can only
play so many games and with the titles that are coming out this year, I
think age is catching up with WH. The main thing I think with WH was
always the strong community we had on here and it's inevitable that
people move on. I don't think any game will ever captivate all of us in
the same way again.
Recently there have been rumors about a Warhawk sequel. Would you buy this if it
was set in space? What new features would you like?
I'm not sure about this. WH in space? Sounds a bit like Star Wars
Battlefront. I'd like to see some sort of variant of the dropship with
some real teamwork involved in piloting it.
Are there any games coming out that you are interested in?
Yes. BF:BC2, BF1943, MAG, Extra maps for Socom and COD MW2. I might give
Infamous a try and maybe Red faction Guerilla. I was disappointed
graphically with RF: Guerilla though. Fully destructible environments
will be available in other games this year and they will be graphically
superior. I don't think it's exactly 're-inventing the wheel', unless
of course they patch it with a new weapon such as.... The 'Ostrich
What was the best moment you can remember on the forums?
There really are too many great moments on here. Every member has
contributed something that has made me genuinely laugh at some point.
Which forumer(s) do you admire the most?
I wouldn't say 'admire'. It's a bit like saying "who do you look up to"
and it's a bit sycophantic imo. I'd probably use the word 'respect'
instead. I'd use that word for anyone who's taken time to stop playing
games for 5 minutes and organised one or more of the many forum events
we've had. Too many forumers to mention in that. Again. You know who
you are guys.
Anything else you would like to add? Yes.
Will Return On Thursday 21st May
stupid cause and its lack of free gifts
Nice interview TNK. :)
