......just because you are getting pounded. This was suggested by a clan mate. It seems as soon as the other team has the upper hand you see people drop out of the server. Should there be a penalty, like my clan mate said maybe a 5 minute freeze on being able to join another server. Perhaps also forcing the top rankers on the dominant team to switch for balance while holding all their stats so its not the end of the world for them either? ![]()

Just because someone is a top player on the winning team does NOT make it fair to force them on to the other team and be cheated out of a win. How would you feel if you were the top player, and was then shoved onto the losing team and have to endure constant death and spawn killing when your old team uses all the resources at their disposal that you helped them to get ? Think.

Thinking is what will help solve this issue. Usually its the top players that are handing out the pwnage so in a word yes they should get moved over. Maybe they could keep the 'win' they so crave if their old team does eventually win, maybe bonus points if after the switch the underdog team turns it around and wins the game?
A freeze on selecting another server maybe the easiest/simplest option but I THINK if the incentive for bonus points is there then players wont mind switching

Sometimes thats the only option you have is to leave!!!!!!
I spawned into a game that was part way through only to find myself spawning into a base surrounded by at least eight Tanks after getting killed six times each time I never got further than a few feet before a tank killed me...
I left after death number six....
I would'nt want to be penalized for leaving something I did'nt like....
I think we need something inplace to stop some of these players just being ONE TRICK MONKEYS like always being in a Hawk or a Tank ........and creating situations where players feel the need to leave a server...

This is crazy talk. Say I join a match, it's going badly (perhaps 5 of my team left in the first few seconds because they were finished with that server but couldn't switch out before the next game started), so my team start fleeing. You're saying I have to be FORCED to play on for 20 minutes, or if I quit because the game is so imbalanced it allowed such a situation to arise I am not allowed to play the game I paid for for five minutes?!
This is a frickin' GAME! It's supposed to be FUN. People are supposed to be playing because it's fun. If they are quitting because it's not fun, the game is fundamentally broken. People don't always quit just because they're on the receiving end of a beating, but if there's nothing they can do to change it and they just spawn to get killed then they should quit and go find or start a game where they'll actually enjoy themselves instead.

This is the wrong way to go about managing people. Adding more and more rules and restrictions and controls is reactionary and not dealing with the underlying causes. Why are some people one-trick monkeys always in a Hawk or Tank? Because they enjoy it? Then they should be allowed because they paid to have fun. Because they want massive kills? Then the game putting emphasis on kills and wins is setting a precedent that encourages poor behaviour. Because they can't get kills with anything other than massive explosions? Then the game isn't giving them space and confidence and/or reason to use the ordinary weapons while making the explosive weapons too cheap.
Controlling people is a matter of trying to force one set of values on everyone. Instead, the systems should be open to allow everyone to do their thing. If necessary, throw in some better server options to divide game types for those who want to play different ways. But it should be a positive choice people can make rather than a load of bossing around with punishments for not doing what someone else demands you do.
