Starhawk - Release Info, Trailer and Screens!
Those of you who know me well know that I'm bouncing off the walls right now. I've been itching to share some of this stuff with you for weeks! Don't hate me though, because now you get to see just what I've been so excited about...
Release Info:
Developed by LightBox Interactive, Starhawk is the "spiritual successor" to Warhawk and will place you in a fast paced, third person shooter set in the unruly frontier of space.
Starhawk gets one very notable upgrade over its predecessor: the ability for players to call down offensive and defensive structures from an orbiting drop ship in space. Real time, in both online multiplayer and single player modes.
Story:
The game does away with Warhawk's Chernovans and Eucadians, focussing this time around on Rift Miners (Rifters) and the Outcast - a ruthless species of humans mutated into psychotic monsters by Rift Energy. Yay!
Rift Energy is a dangerous resource that both factions are fighting to control. You will be placed in the boots of Emmett Graves, a hired gunslinger expelled from society due to his own exposure to Rift Energy (which has typically placed him smack bang in the middle of Joe Bloggs and mutated evil monster).
As Graves, you will be drawn back to your home settlement of White Sands on the planet Dust to face a mysterious outlaw and his band of outcast warriors, only to find that the assignment may mean more to Emmett than ever imagined. Graves will soon find out that his family are involved in the clash between Rifters and the Outcast - and must choose between those close to him, and those he swore to protect.
Combat:
Starhawk features a multitude of weaponary and vehicles for fast paced action and diverse combat on both land and in the air.
The Build & Battle system allows players to dynamically alter the course of the battle by placing down defensive and offensive base structures. At the touch of a button, and in the middle of the battlefield, you'll be able to call down buildings, vehicles and firepower to help you and your team kick-butt.
Just like Warhawk, the game is played in 3rd person.
Online:
Starhawk boasts a 32 player online multiplayer mode - in which you can use splitscreen just like Warhawk. There's also the added bonus of online and offline co-op modes, in which you can take on endless attacks by enemies (in splitscreen, also).
You can also safely expect online tournaments, leaderboards, clan support, friends list and quick match options. Keep up-to-date with a built in community events calendar (WIN!), events ticker and even a Starhawk Android app which will keep you connected to your Starhawk friends, clan mates and stats whenever you need them.
Release Date?
Not yet. Starhawk is currently scheduled for a 2012 release.

Can't Wait....
Would have loved the story mode to have Drop-in Drop out Online co-op. The theme seems a bit lame, doesn't seem to be Tanks?!?
But other than that i'm happy....the Transforming is SO Cool!! Never get tired of seeing it.

Sure is, expect me to only leave the Starhawk stand for food and nature's calling.
