Well Howdy Folks

Welcome to our first pan-European Starhawk tournament!  The Starhawk Showdown.

Just so you know, this is in a bit fo an early stage at the moment.  We still have a couple of bits and bobs to iron out but I wanted to give you a sort of a gist about what is going to be going down.

This here is a month long knockout tournament featuing some of the finest sharpshooters across the continent and I am looking to round up some of you to take part for when it all kicks off on the 19th of May.

It's a team event.  There are no restrictions to the composition of teams.  To qualify as a team you need to have a maximum of 15 participants (12 players and 3 reserves).  Unlike the Warhawk World Cup from last year, you do not have to all be from the same country.  I'm just asking for involvement from the English forum and there can be more than one team born out of this sign up thread.

• If you're not in a team and you're looking to join one
• If you're not in a team and you wish to form one

Work with each other to form your teams and enter yourself in the wildest showdown this side of El Paso.  Now if you're wanting to take part, make sure you are available on these dates:

First Heats: May 26th
Second Heats: June 2nd
Quarter Finals: June 9th (7:00pm BST)
Semi Finals: June 16th (7:00pm BST)
Final Round: June 23rd (7:00pm BST)

You now have time to register until May 23rd (11:00pm BST).

Note that these are all Saturdays and matches will take place after 7pm BST.  The dates are subject to change depending on the amounts of teams that sign up across the continent.

The matches on each game night will consist of 3 rounds in a combination of Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag and Zones.

Now the important bit.  The prizes that will be on offer.......

- First place:
a final match of Starhawk™ against LBI (the game developer) on June 20th (so 4 days after the final match)
one year of PlayStation® Plus membership per participant in the winning team
a Starhawk™ t-shirt per participant in the winning team
a Star Hawk™ Rift Hunter DLC per participant in the winning team

- Second place:
three months of PlayStation® Plus membership per participant in the team
a Starhawk™ t-shirt per participant in the team
a Star Hawk™ Rift Hunter DLC per participant in the team

- Third place:
a Starhawk™ t-shirt per participant in the team
a Star Hawk™ Rift Hunter DLC per participant in the team

These are the special prizes for the first, second and third place. Every participant in a team is entitled to a prize if he/ she participated in at least one match!

Specific Rules for Starhawk Showdown

1. This Starhawk Showdown competition (Competition) is open to residents of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and United Kingdom aged 18 years or over (Entrants).

2. To enter this promotion, Entrants must:
(i) Go to their local language forum at http://community.eu.playstation.com/playstationeu (the Forum);
(ii) Click on the Starhawkâ„¢ board;
(iii) Sign in to their Sony Computer Network Account (Sony Account), or if they don't already have one, use their PlayStation 3 system, PlayStation Vita system or PSP (PlayStation®Portable) system to create a Sony Account and then sign-in via the Forum;
(iv) Click on the Starhawk Showdown thread;
(v) Enter their SEN online ID to the list of Entrants;
(vi) Join a team of Entrants;
(vii) The team will compete in a multiplayer Starhawk tournament;
(viii) To qualify as a team, the team will have a maximum of 15 participants (12 participants and 3 reserves);
(ix) Before joining a team, Entrants must ensure that they shall be available on the following dates:
· First Heats : May 26th
· Second Heats (16 teams): June 2nd
· Quarter Finals: June 9th
· Semi Finals: June 16th
· Final Round: June 23rd;
(x) All information regarding how to sign in and join the Competition on the above dates will be provided on the Forum;
(xi) By entering this Competition, Entrants are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

3. Registration for Sony Account is subject to acceptance of the PSN Terms of Service and User Agreement and PSN Privacy Policy.

4. The opening date is 26/05/12 at 15:00 BST and the closing date is 23/06/12 at 19:00 BST.

5. Entrants must adhere to the General Rules and in particular, to sections 7 and 8. In addition, entries must not contain any (i) pornography, nudity, or sexually explicit imagery, (ii) abusive, offensive or hateful imagery or language, (iii) harassing or defamatory content, (iv) content that compromises the privacy or safety of yourself or others, (v) content that demeans a particular gender, sexual orientation, disability, religion, ethnicity or nationality, (vi) violent or dangerous behaviour, and/or (vii) spam, advertising or other commercial activities.

6. There will be one team which comes first place, one team that comes second place and one team that comes third place.

a. The prize for the team that comes first place is (i) a final match of Starhawk against LBI (the game developer) on 26 June 2012, (ii) one year of PlayStation®Plus membership per participant in the winning team, (iii) a Starhawk t-shirt per participant in the winning team and (iv) a Starhawk Rift Hunter DLC per participant in the winning team with a total value of approximately 57.18 EUR /46.50 GBP /425.27 DNK /433.25NOK /238.49 PLN /509.49 SEK /1,432 CZK /2,218.77 RUB / 68.67 CHF /13.21 NZD /10.29 AUD.
b. The prize for the team that comes second place is (i) three months of PlayStation®Plus membership per participant in the team, (ii) a Starhawk t-shirt per participant in the team and (iii) a Starhawk Rift Hunter DLC per participant in the team with a total value of approximately 22.13 EUR /18.50 GBP /164.62 DNK /167.71 NOK /92.32 PLN /197.22 SEK /26.58 CHF /553.69 CZK /857.75 RUB /36.55 NZD /28.47 AUD.  
c. The prize for the team that comes third place is (i) a Starhawkâ„¢ t-shirt per participant in the team and (ii) a Starhawk Rift Hunter DLC per participant in the team with a total value of approximately 8 EUR /6.51 GBP /59.50 DNK /60.62 NOK /33.37 PLN /71.29 SEK /9.61 CHF /200.29 CZK /310.37 RUB /73.57 AUD /94.45 NZD.  

7. All Entrants will be entitled to the Starhawk Rift Hunter DLC with a value of approximately 2 Eur/1.63 GBP /14.88 DNK/ 15.15 NOK/ 3.32NZD /8.34 PLN / 176.82 SEK /2.40 CHF / 51 CZK /79.36 RUB /2.60 AUD if they participated in at least one match.

8. Voucher codes (for the Rift Hunter DLC and PlayStation Plus membership) are subject to terms and conditions of use. Please click here for details. Voucher codes are not transferable and may not be re-sold. No cash alternatives will be offered. Voucher codes have an expiry date which will be communicated with the code.

9. The winning team will be notified by e-mail within 2 days of the closing date and will be given 4 weeks to claim their prize.  

10. The Promoter will use reasonable endeavours to dispatch the prize within 30 days of receipt of the Entrant’s claim but the Promoter does not accept any responsibility for prizes that are dispatched later than this period.

11. Prizes shall be sent by email and registered post (as appropriate) to the address associated with the winner’s Sony Account. Instructions on how to redeem the PSN voucher code and the code’s expiry date will be included in the e-mail.

12.  If the prize is found to be defective or damaged on delivery, the Promoter must be notified in writing within 7 days of the delivery date, otherwise the prize will be deemed to be accepted as delivered. This does not affect your statutory rights (if any).  

13. The Promoter shall publish the winning team participants SEN online ID and team name and country of residence on the Forum. Entries may remain on the competition thread within the Forum at the Promoters discretion.

I may join if I get the game. Am extremely sore that they are charging €9.99 for an online pass. It's putting me off getting it. I'll decide over the next week. I had it down as a definite before I found that out just over an hour ago.

Do you even get anything with the online pass?

Same as BF3 I assume, just a pass to play online. If your getting it brand new man, ye won't need the pass like. It just a way to make some cash of pre owned sales.

would love to play the tourney, sadly i work every weekend until 9pm BST, so not sure if i will be available.

I'd LOVE to get involved with this, unfortunately the dates are too close to E3 for me to play in the Semi's.

I'm more than happy to sign up for matches before then though (might take a rain check on the 19th - Chelsea!)
