No I meant the random people that joined the server!!! There were people joining the server who just saw it in the server list. They weren't part of either team! Hence the 'noob' tag. They wouldn't leave either. Darthnick had to spend time messaging them telling them to leave. Because the server had no password any "noob" could join .

Showdowners vs. G*F and SPEC - Match Report
Game #1 (CTF - Outlands - Classic Beta)
A great example of defensive play on both sides and a promising start to the match, with the Showdowners (my team) taking the initiative early and repeatedly going for the flag. G*F/SPEC did well though, quickly cutting off any chance of escaping with the flag and maintaining a strong aerial presence throughout this and the subsequent games.
Showdowners were not troubled too much by G*F/SPEC attacks but we were disappointed not to have captured a flag, given the number of times myself and ZI-OR managed to get into the enemy HQ. The deadlock wasn't broken after sudden death so the first game ended with a draw.
DRAW (0-0)
Game #2 (TDM - Conduit - Classic Beta)
This could have gone better for the Showdowners, really. A tactical decision early on sealed our team's fate, I believe, as we all agreed to stay in the HQ and repel the enemy attacks like we had in the first game. Supply bunkers and watchtowers were set up, as well as a host of Beam Turrets. But G*F/SPEC continued to dominate the air and caused major problems for the Showdowners, including a number of torpedo hits which we could only watch in disbelief.
The Showdowners managed to get some Hawks in the air, distracting the enemy team for a while, but then a couple of "bruisers" made short work of our base structures and caused our team to chase them around the HQ. This gave G*F and SPEC time to control the central ridge and bombard us with Mech attacks, under a shield generator. The Showdowners worked hard throughout, but G*F/SPEC punished us from the air in this game and deserved their win.
G*F/SPEC WIN (100-53)
Game #3 (Zones - Lost Canyon - Ground Pounder)
The Showdowners needed a win from this third game and were determined to get it. It was revenge time! Making use of Sidewinders early on, both teams made sure to capture two zones each. However, Showdowners were ahead on points which meant that we just needed to keep control of our own zones to stay ahead. G*F/SPEC couldn't rely on Hawks for this game, but did well to sneak into the zones on sidewinders and on foot, making the Showdowners work hard to keep the lead.
Using "bruisers", G*F/SPEC went about building outposts neaby to drop in and wreck our zones, while their tanks advanced. Showdowners managed to hold on long enough to destroy the outposts and build tank depots to drive the enemy back. At one point, Showdowners controlled all four zones and were seconds away from "world victory", but the talents of the surviving G*F/SPEC members meant they were able to reclaim a zone and take the game right to the time limit. Showdowners delivered a strong win and levelled the scores... taking us into "extra time"!
SHOWDOWNERS WIN (3225-1777)
Game #4 (CTF)
Unfortunately, due to running over, I had to leave before the deciding game could be played which I regret very much. If someone can fill me in on what happened that would be great, but according to our chat room, it was a straight win for G*F/SPEC...
G*F/SPEC WIN (5-0)
G*F/SPEC WIN THE MATCH (2-1)
Well done to everyone who took part and especially to my fellow Showdowners who, a week ago, were just some randoms thrown together. Now we're a solid team and I feel we worked well enough together to maybe come back for future tournaments!
P.S. I couldn't get my camera ready to capture Game #1 so I've only got pics for 2 and 3

@ wingkong indeed the last CTF was a walk over and I think it was because nobody really knew about a fourth round (just my guess).
And like you said we should be proud because we played as a team and had good fun, what more do you need? ![]()

It wasn't very clear as to whether we had to play another round or not and voice chat wasn't working, so I just had to stay logged on when I left. CTF is the toughest mode though, if the winning side get a pattern going then it can turn into a walk over. Never mind, Mutschegiebchen was on about getting the losing sides back for another game or something...

I knew that Scourge was meant to be the first game but I can't remember being told it was a warm up. Anyway, when it got to the last game, Mutschegiebchen said that we had to play another because it was a draw. Which means he must have been counting game #1 (CTF) as a game...
I don't think we should be playing warm ups anyway (not with the opposite team) because you're getting an advantage going into the games.

Thanks very much. May I suggest some things to help with the management of the servers in future.
1. Passwords
2. Switch teams enabled
3. Balance teams off.
Only give the password to the team leaders on match day, do not post it on the forum for everyone to see.
good info for the mods ![]()
