I was playing Starhawk earlier and snuck in behind enemy lines. I put a spawn beacon down, but within the first 30 seconds, I had at least 6 drop pods landing on me while I waited for my team to drop... which they didn't...
I was thinking, we need some sort of countermeasure to beat multiple enemies dropping on us. Section 8 Prejudice did this pretty well if I remember rightly. They had something that would shoot enemies out of the sky when they spawned unless you had a specific type of armour unlocked. Perhaps we could use something similar here? A flak turret that fires up in the air within a certain range would be great!
All the outfits are aesthetic choices at the moment, but what if they actually had some real uses. Armour that could take some more bullets, take a beating from the anti drop pod artillery or something.
As for bruiser, well Section 8 managed without it... I'm sure Starhawk can!

So you want something to make it easier for you to camp in the other team's base and rack up kills without the enemy even being allowed to spawn?
If you're in the enemy base then you're fair game. You can see where the pods are going to land so just get out of the way of them and don't let them fall on your head.
If you really died 6 times in a row whilst hanging around waiting for your team I think you should develop some new tactics as your current approach clearly isn't working in your favour.

No, I didn't die 6 times, I only died once. As soon as my beacon came down, they were straight on top of me, all with their bruiser skill. I went in with max rift intending to build a shield as soon as I had the extra 2 rift. That plan didn't work.
I don't think it should be easier to camp INSIDE the enemy base. What I mean is, if we are outside of the enemy base and they can spawn from the very edge of their base and maneouvre to reach our spawn beacon, we should be able to counter that.
With the new freedom of movement with spawn pods being introduced in the next patch, I think something like this will be necessary, as presumably, they will be able to reach areas much further out of their base, just using the spawn pods.
I was completely overwhelmed in less than a minute... we should at least have a chance to build up our defences. Yes, it was inside the base, but this has happened to me even outside the base, which I think is totally wrong.

It's your responsibility to defend yourself against enemy attacks whilst you're building your structures, that's why you carry weapons.
As soon as you build an outpost you are putting up a massive sign that says "Here I am, come and take me on". If you're building an outpost near the enemy base it's much more effective to have a few teammates with you before you build it so you can defend it as a unit.

Perhaps we need better indicators for our team that there are new outposts available to spawn on? Some people repeatedly spawn on the home base time and time again without any knowledge of outposts being available.
The fact is, I'm only going to be able to have 2 other helpers with me against those 6 enemies. Unless I somehow get a convoy of players with me to try and create a stronghold, we simply won't be able to kill enough of them.
Bruiser is partly at fault for making it ridiculously easy to destroy buildings. Without that, the enemy would need to take time destroying our outpost. We would have enough time to respawn and continue fortifying and defending the outpost. I think the game would be a lot better without bruiser, it would definitely be fairer. Even if it was replaced by the grinder, that would be miles better as it is more legitimate than knifing a building to destruction!

Yeah, and spawning with grinder would rob them from overall better perks.
In Zones, what you describe is quite easy to pull off, even without communication. But if you want to build a base inside your enemy's base, you're going to need friends or a mic.
