Academic Programs

by NayusDante on ‎06-03-2012 01:10 PM

Google's App Inventor was used by after-school programs as an introduction to programming. PlayStation Suite is a bit lower-level in comparison, but the GameEngine2D shows a lot of promise as an introductory API. It would be nice to see some kind of curriculum put together for using PSS in a high school computer science class.

This is a great suggestion, and the GameEngine2D would be a great starting point for new programmers :smileyhappy:

I have nothing to 'add' to this topic other than the fact I agree and would hope people pay more attention to threads with lots of replies. That's how it works, right?

If nothing else, should we expect to see some in-depth tutorials published?  Or is this going to be the responsibility of the user base?

Hi Calent,

We can't talk for the general public, but we're planning some new features to sit along side these forums (a blog is one of them), which we can use to cover some in-depth areas of the SDK. In addition to this, we may also start to see members of the community publish tutorials once PlayStation Suite goes into Open Beta.
