Because c# is easier for a majority of users than c/c++. Also, just because you hate MS doesn't mean they are going to change their minds. You are getting free developer tools for Sony hardware; appreciate what you are getting. Also, C# is not just MS, it is cross platform now.

They're using a managed language (and specifically forbidding native code) so that devs working with PS Suite can't gain access to the underlying memory/hardware and enable any sort of DRM bypass.  If you want that sort of access, you have to become a full-fledged dev, sign a ton of contracts, and pay quite a bit more.

Yes, C# makes for user-friendly dev (especially GUI), but you're kidding yourself if you think that's the only reason.

For same reason why Android use Java, to be able to run it on any architecture once as something is compiled. Fact currently all devices are ARM, but Sony is known user of MIPS + there always may be posibility to do mobile x86 products, which both Android supports. If they gonna produce something with diffrent architecture they would need to mobilize all developers to recompile there software, with .NET (or Java) they don't need to do that.

This particular implementation of .NET is actually based on the Open Source Mono .NET framework and has nothing to do with Microsoft. .NET is now and open standard. Xamarin's, the company behind this version of the Mono compilers has .NET workingo on iOS, Android and MacOS, so if you seperate your UI layer from you business layer, like any good programmer should, then you code will be portable between Linux, MacOS, iOS, Android, PS Vita ( PS3 in future ), Xbox, Windows Phone 7, Windows and maybe even the Raspberry Pi soon.

Your irrational hatred is not a logical reason for them to obey you

This suit is for "kitchen-developers" like XNA for XBox. In fact I very disappointed too, because I have my framework for iOS and Android platforms in C/C++. And now If I want to port some of my games to Vita I need to rewrite every line in my sources)).  But I understand why Sony decided to use C#.

I hate Ms is only a joke.:catembarrassed:

I think Sony And Ms work together to Against Java(Android) and Objc(iOs) .

In the future I think PSS will support Windows Phone.

As iPhone developer makes Objc popular, maybe chance For C#

By supporting C# the barrier to entry is lower than for C++
