got the same problem and all my other games work just black ops doesn't. i palyed yesterday and today i wen't off to eat something i came back, started the ps3 and bam "80010514" error and disc won't launch anymore ... (all updates have been done btw)
Try restoring the default settings if you continue having problems with the game. Obviously, it's not something to do with the Playstation as everything else works fine, so contact Activision if you continue having problems with that.
omg a little update of status... i tought i fixed it cause after trying a little bit it worked again.... after playing a few houres my image freezed and i had same error again so no launch of disc/bluray... than i tried it a 20 times again to relaunch, gave it up for 10 minutes tried again and it works again ! yay hopefullly it stay's away this time....
Had my PS3 for 3 years, had Black Ops for 3 days, and getting this error 80010514 now. Played multiplayer and campaign with no issue at first, but now when I try multiplayer, it locks up and I can't get any game to load unless I turn the system off for a few hours and then I can get back on to play another game or play campaign mode, usually. My system is passed warranty and I don't think I can find the receipt, so not sure if I am just out of luck here if my PS3 is now screwed. All the fixes I have seen for this error so far have not worked.
yeah we all got the same issue i tried everything too ... i hope there is a miracle patch for this cause i really starting to dislike black ops only cause this bug
I've got the same problem: - new games (Black Ops, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood) generate 80010514 code, but old games (MW2) load fine.
Sony support say its cause the lens is going but that sounds like rubbish to me
Same problem here, I only get the error message on Black Ops (but I don't own any other "new" games like ACB yet)
I just got off the phone to Sony, got the usual response "it's not your console, ring Activision"
I honestly don't think this has anything to do with the game makers. Has anyone actually rang Activision and if so, what did they say?
Oh, and I had a brand new bluray laser fitted in March this year, so it's unlikely to be that
