Shaun of the Dead arrived this morning on Blu-ray. I put it in my PS3 and the first thing I notice is that the icon took longer to appear on the XMB than usual and the Blu-ray drive is going mental. When the icon appeared, I played the movie and I keep getting error 80029906.I tried Hot Fuzz after that and it works fine, so I'm not sure what the problem is.

Come on Sony...this is crap. My sons today gets COD MW2 from Santa, loaded update 3.15 a couple of days ago. Sure enough the first time using COD MW2 it freezes and up comes the dreaded 80010514 error................have spent 4 hours of christmas day searching net etc looking for solutions, have tried restores, etc but to no avail. Our PS3  is a Model CECHC02 (60 gig). Looking at this forum thread and many others over the net all seem to have a common theme. recent updates 3.1 and 3.15 and also Call of Duty MW2....it cannot be a coincidence that many of the threads say that the 80010514 error has first come up during play of COD MW2!. What are Sony going to do about it?

My system gave me this code after playing the new CODMW2 this sucks I can't play any of my ps3 games now. My machine has been out of warranty for a few months but I still think Sony has an obligation to cover the costs of any needed repairs. From the large # of posts on this subject it is apparrent this problem has manifested itself in thousands of systems.

I have this error code and can not play world at war 

80010514 ERROR CODES whats going on here sony make a patch to fix this,  I'm about to go out and buy a 360

I getting this code now, after installing bioshock 2. not happy.

I have the same error code 80010514, when trying to play FIFA10.

When it shows this message the system freezes and after restart doesnt see insterted disk. I need to restart it couple times to make it see the disk but when i run it, sony either freezes or give me that error and freezes.

PS3 is 60G NTSC 2reg. bought march 2008.

Most articles that i read says that this issue started after 3.01 or 3.10 firmware.

I seem to having the same problem the 80010514 error code. I have had my ps3 all well ever since they first came out. The 40 gb. I am taking about 3 years now. I just started getting the code about 3 weeks ago. Really upsetting reading what all is going on and no answers for it. I was hoping to get online and bam a quick and easy fix. So much for that idea huh.

i have had the same problem with my 40 gig spiderman bluray edition ps3 for awhile it happen back in like late 08 early 09 and i jsut havent messwed with it it played evrything fine but for blueray dvds ps1 games work and i even was able to install ubuntu and such on the other os system. (havent tested bluerays in ubuntu) but its the same rpoblem you all have been having and there is no error code explanation from sony (prolly anouther failedd model error due to updates like this weekend leep year fail)
