my 60gb launch day model got the 800010514 code whilst playing black ops, i had been playing for about an hour and then joined a friend.we played 2 games before becoming seperated.  Then when i went to join another game it froze came up with the error code and now my ps3 wont play anything on a bluray disc..Dvd's,music cd's and ps2 games alwork perfectly but as soon as i put in a BR disc the system recognises it's in the drive will load and then stops approx 2 mins in to game play or during a load sequence..

never had a single issue before this bloody game.

Yep here's another poor sucker involved in this whole Black Op's crap! Frozen my PS3 countless times and yes also ceased my Blu Ray Drive to work. This was going on for roughly a week, so i stopped using Black Op's and found that my Blu Ray Drive now works for around 3 hours maximum at a time (with a major cooling off period)... This was never an issue before I purchased this game! So I ask 2 questions, why are we all talking about it on here and not to watchdog? 2. Why hasn't someone from Sony actually answered a 10 page technical issue on their own community support forum??

I have also written to watchdog.  Just had to buy a new ps3.  Nothing was wrong with mine until I played black ops.

keeps freezing mine and if its causing breakdowns i guess i will stay away. Sony please label ported games on packaging

Black ops wont even load right, have to retart stupid playsation evertime. it blacks out and freezes my ps3!

So many tardish problems with frikken Black Ops.

I don't think this issue is strictly limited to just Black Ops. I wrote a thread about the same thing basically occuring while playing on GT5 and the latest Assassins Creed (Brotherhood).

You only need to conduct a few searches on the internet with Google to learn that the Sony PS3 blu-ray drive is far from reliable.

The search above returns at least 1.7 million results, along with videos of people replacing their blu ray lasers and all sorts. Yet you'll struggle to find anything relating to this problem coming directly from Sony themselves??

I am pointing my finger directly at Sony for making such a flimsy piece of kit. They've at least had the opportunity to upgrade this and make it more robust in the slim model (I know that it's a different laser and cradle) but from what I hear, it's just as unreliable as the first release fat model.

I've complained, I'm out of warranty, got nowhere and so I've been forced to buy a new PS3... Not amused!

YOU AREN'T THE ONLY ONE! I refuse to even attempt to play this trash game until they do something about all of the instability. Im sick of everyone saying its because PSN is free NO MW2 plays extremely better than this poor attempt at programming on the part of Treyarch.

Treyarch, I took a chance and bought this not forgetting about your ***** poor attempt at World at War and I should have stuck with my gut instinct because I paid 62.53 for something I can't even use. I feel like i just bought the shamwow or fushigi or something. Trust me I will NEVER buy anything you produce ever again. Trash company, trash ITT Tech staff, and complete incompetence when it comes to creating an average game. MW2 blew you guys out of the water all you have is zombies and that gets real old real fast.
