Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is a way that I can back-up all my game saves and data from my PS3? Only problem is that my PS3 has that 'Yellow Light Of Death' thing so it wont even turn on
I'm pretty sure just removing the hard drive and putting it in a new console wont work. Any ideas? I really dont want to lose 3 years of gaming!

i think someone has just done enough of a repair with the use of a hairdryer to retrieve their game saves, you could try the same thing
don't put your hard drive in another PS3 as i believe it will automatically format the drive, something you dont want

Yeah, I had heard of that too, looks like it might be my only option. I find it incredible to believe that SONY have develpoed the PS3 in such a way that this problem cant be overcome by a smipler process.

yer it works (i was da 1 who just did it) its been going fine for 2 1/2hours (not on game exept 5 min to get lbp game save) and sony but in a option but it requires an undead ps3 so its stupid any way what i did was
1.found my ps3 box
2.turned ma ps3 upside down and put it in
3.put my hairdryer on (high max power )for 15 mins on the vent by the hdmi port (u look down on them as ur ps3 upside down
4.openned a window and waited 20 mins
5.loaded up ps3 and clicked power on,eject, power on eject and so on i still got a yellow light after 15-20 sec clicking them both i heard it try to eject the disk then yellow light so i carred on clicking them both and my mw2 came of ,i carried on clicking them both and it powered on and i got a funny message
The ps3 wasn't turned off last time it was used turn it off by ETC
