Got Black ops this morning and inserted into my ps3 done the update but after 5 seconds of the main game screen starting it froze. re-started my ps3 and it froze again so i tried various other games with no problems so thought it was the disk. went back to the shop and changed it for another, got home and hey presto the same thing happend again exactly in the same piont of screen game as the first. can someone plese help.

and one more thing, i dont even have to go online for it to freeze :-(

Go into "Game Data Utility" and delete all Black Op's files.

Now try the game, you'll probably be asked to do the update again.

Is your PS3 a 120GB slim  CECH-2003A?
I've been trying to help my brother get his copy to work on his slim but every time he starts it he gets signed out then signed back in then the game brings up an error! We have tried 3 copies of Black Ops all do the same thing, but all work on other PS3'.

All other discs work on his PS3, he's on firmware 3.50, parental control aren't on.

I can't think of any thing else to try!

If you work out how to fix this let me know.

EDIT: he hasn't done the update because the game comes up with an error before asking to update.

Black Ops freezes on multiplayer so far & I can not go into the network menu or join parties Without freezing the Ps3. Sucks. Very unstable on ps3 slim 120

I have one of the original ps3 and it keeps freezing when I try to play multiplayer online and it was working fine earlier today.

Try option 3 Restore file system firsthand if that doesn't fix it repeat the procedure and try option 4 Rebuild the database.

If that doesn't fix it may have to wait for Black Ops patch from Activision who'd of though they'd rush a game out without proper bug testing.

i have a problem it wont let me go online in multiplayer or zombies just takes me there then i select playstation to get online then pop up says server down try again later or contact a site link that cant do anything all other uk friends dont get this problem.i deleted file also and re downloaded updates still no change.?? so whats the fix who is it i contact .??

At least you can play it at all. Mine won't even let me see past the Title Screen.
