Re: Can't add funds to wallet / error 80023102

[ Edited ]

im so tired of sony now. every time u turn around theres another god damn problem. they thousands of credit card info, they cant keep their network up and -stable-, n now i cant even PAY for somethin i wanna buy, n they dno how to fix it.

as much as i hate microsoft, sony is just worse. no quality games are out anymore just shooters, shooters, sports, and more shooters. and when the moon is full and the planets have aligned and a quality game does come out, its either only for xbox or they have it too. like ***** is the point of havin a playstation, for blue ray? thats pretty much it n thats probably only what im gonna use it for from now on.

xbox has the same games, better games (all these years n not one solid rpg has come out for ps3) better online experience (psn doesnt even allow name changes...like really..? thats a simple concept...), the psn store sucks, PERIOD. NONE of the megaman x games are for sale, n the ONE they do let out, its for psp... the downloadable exclusive's could be the butt of a comedian's joke, n dont get me started on their ps2 "classics" list that not only is only 11 games long, but 11 games the general gaming population might as well consider nonexistant, and to top that cherry off, the ps3 is not backwards compatible.

sony, you've done a horrid job of keepin ur customers happy this generation, and infact, have lost a ***** ton of them. our money is better spent elsewhere, cuz this company clearly doesnt know what theyre doing anymore. you're a gigantic disappointment to the gaming industry and the whole company needs to step back n re-evaluate what "quality" is.

do us all a favor, and stay out of the next generation of gaming, please.

Re: Can't add funds to wallet / error 80023102

I agree man. This is ridiculous.

I have a PSP go and IT WONT GO!?

Microsoft seem to take my money when they shouldn't, granted, but at least they bloody well know how!

Get your act together Sony.

Re: Can't add funds to wallet / error 80023102

Got the same problem here. Been using the same card for the last 3 years and it doesn't expire until later this year. Details are as close to what appears on my bank statement as possible, the only thing missing is the coffee stain! Last time I added money to my account was in September. Been trying the last 4 days to add funds, but keep getting the 80023102 error on the PS3 and on the online feature it just claims the details are wrong. I have tried inputting the details using capitals and even used morse-code, but nothing has worked.

In the meantime I have successfully used the same card at numerous cash points, amazon.co.uk and a few other places without difficulty.

I appreciate the increase in security, but when the security is so tight that even the rightful holder of the card finds it impossible to get funds from then maybe the security is a notch too high.

Re: Can't add funds to wallet / error 80023102

hello, ive only had the problem for 2 days now and decided to call in after seeing this thread of  "i have the same problem"  After giving my cerial and model number i was told that i have been locked out of adding funds due to entering the card info more than 3 times (which i only did fallowing thier advise and online and the email they sent me).  after which they told me "on the up side you can buy a card"... up side my butt... i explained how i like to add just what i need and not spend 40 bucks on 2 cards when my purchase was 24.98.  even though i verified who i am i can not get this lock removed.... dumb.  yeah, so ont touch it for a week (your credit card info) and hope it workds in a week i guess

Re: Can't add funds to wallet / error 80023102

Thanks for the news Ernest. You'd think that they would have the sense to display a message such as 'this account is locked' instead of just 'the funds could not be added' which is what I have been getting on the last few attempts.

I will take your advice of waiting a week. Not going to buy a card as it will just encourage me to spend money for the sake of it, rather than because I want to. I only need to make a minimum top up which is what is making even more frustrating.

Re: Can't add funds to wallet / error 80023102

Have the same problem.I either get the “cant add to wallet or the 80023102” pop up. Through the online site, it even says that my cc info is wrong. But its the correct nr and adress. Hope they fix this soon.

Re: Can't add funds to wallet / error 80023102

I am having the same problem, except to a grander extent. I have tried a credit card in order to purchase stuff from the store, but it did not allow the transaction to go through showing the same error. Then knowing that my friend bought me a PSN card containing 50$ and I was able to successfully add the funds to my wallet. But then when I try to USE the funds it doesn't let me. I used an ethernet cable too and it still doesn't work, ruling out any firewall issues. Then I tried logging into my account on my friend's PS3, but it still won't let me use the funds, ruling out any issues with my network. I find this extremely intolerable as now I have 50$ in my wallet and it's not letting me do anything with it,  so basically 50$ down the drain? I spent an hour on customer service, but they didn't tell me anything that a 6 year old couldn't. "Did you try restarting the PS3?" "Is your internet connected?" Unforgiveable.

Re: Can't add funds to wallet / error 80023102

So 20 days after my original complaint, I left everything exactly as it was in the first place; I changed absolutely nothing and haven't done since before I made that first purchase of funds with my debit card.

I tried tonight to add £5 (I was short a little for a game) and it let me. Not only that but it also allowed me to actually purchase the game/download it. I have no idea what the hell sparked it though, I did nothing. So...I suppose if it doesn't work, it's a waiting game? Not really good enough, Sony. :/ But at least it works for me now...for the time being. Watch it not work tomorrow.
