Re: Can't backup my PS3 anymore!

If you put PS3 hard drive into amazon or somewhere then you should come up with a range of compatible hard drives :smileyhappy:

Re: Can't backup my PS3 anymore!

This is an ancient thread, but anyway...

To format a drive over 32GB so that it can be read by a PS3 you will need a FAT32 converter for windows, or a Linux installation that can do it for you.

This tool will be able to format any volume to a format that can be read in the PS3. However make sure that the drive selected is your USB drive and not the PC Hard Disk!

Re: Can't backup my PS3 anymore!

Sorry guys, I forgot all about this thread but yes I did get round it.

Basically, strangeplaice is right. I got a shot of another external HDD, moved all of my existing data onto it and then formatted my original HDD with FAT32 convertor and then it worked fine. Moved all my old backups back onto it and now when I plug it in it tells me the correct GB remaining and would allow me to do another backup if I want.
