Can't log into Sony Entertainment Network

I can't get my PS3 to logon.  I can use the web browser fine.  When I try and log on to play online I get this error message:

 

"Network Error"  the connection to server timed out X8002A542

 

Please Help

Is this on a wireless or wired connection?
