Cannot transfer PS3 purchased games to PS Vita

[ Edited ]

Hi,

I downloaded the following Vita games RC Motorstorm and Super Star Dust on my PC3 withmy master account. My son who has a PS Vita registered to my account using his sub-account cannot transfer these games to his Vita.

The Vita won't connect (using content manager) to the PS3 when the PS3 is logged in to my account

The Vita will connect to the PS3 and start to transfer when the PS3 is logged in using his sub account but won't transfer the games, we're getting a message saying we can only copy content we're the owner of.

Of course I can't sign into the Vita with my master account details as it's not regsitered to that account.

What are we doing wrong, all I want to do is effectively gift these games to him.

Thanks for the help

Re: Cannot transfer PS3 purchased games to PS Vita

Hi Sonicatt1444,

Sorry to hear of the difficulties that you are having.  The issue is that you have purchased the games on your Master Account.   Because of the DRM games are locked to your Master Account.

The best way to manage a Sub Account is to fund the wallet of the Sub Account from the Master Account.  You can do this as a one off or set a monthly allowance, this way your son can make purchases directly on the Sub account, and in future, avoid the problem you are currently experiencing.

Refunds are not normally issued unless there is a fault with the product, however you may wish to contact your local PlayStation Support to see if they are able to help on this occasion.

Any questions please ask.
