Chronic movie playback problem

I am in desperate need of a fix for this recurring problem. When watching most movies (from Hard drive, not disc) the PS3 will quit the movie and take me to the movies root folder or the PSN store. Here are the facts to get a better diagnosis:

 

It doesn't do it on every film

It doesn't happen at the same point in a clip twice

It does it more on some days than others (with the same movies)

It doesn't happen with the same clips on other PS3s

It happens at completely random intervals.

 

I just load the movie and play from just before where it dropped out, then it usually lasts about another 15-20 minutes then it'll quit again. It's a real pain in the bum.

 

Anyone else ever had this?
