Recently bought CoD4:MW GotY as it was the only versions of CoD I hadn't bought. Disc is like new, shows no scratches, finger marks or blemishes. Insert disc and get prompt to d/l 12mb of update which installs. Game then tries to start but gets stuck with a screen prompting me to press X on Yes or No. But I can't select either option, the only thing I can do is press the PS button and Quit Game which then resets the PS3 completely.
I've seen posts suggesting that disconnecting and then reconnecting the internet/router fixes the issue but it hasn't made the slightest difference for me. If I disconnect as suggested I can access the single player campaign and play that, but so far no joy at all getting online.
I don't hack/cheat/boost and have not been banned/blocked from any other CoD game so can't see that being the issue, especially as I've never played the game.
Really confused. Is this a problem with the firmware? Is it my network settings (fwiw I have no issue finding joining matches on any other game, not just CoD)? Have Sony or Activision acknowledged this as an issue?
